A/N- Character death in this chapter.
Sirius knew what to do just then. He grabbed Peter by the arm then disappeared to some forest. They would be safe there and nothing could find them. "Peter you said you wanted us to let you do stuff, then let's bring it on. I just hope James has his mirror on him" said Sirius.
Peter was a little nervous now. he looked around the forest, but all he saw was darkest and tree. There was not another soul in sight. He was very curious as to what Sirius meant by that. Peter thought it would be a few days at least before he had to prove himself, but he guessed not. "What do you mean, Sirius?" asked Peter in a squeaky voice.
Sirius pushed Peter into a tree as he grabbed out his mirror. "Shut up, Peter. I am going to get a hold of James then we will go to the Evans house where he is at. They may know something, which would be good practice for you. It will help you learn. We can't have you messing up things for us, now can we?" Sirius asked.
Peter nodded his head in agreement. This would be the event that made Peter make up his mind. He knew in this moment that he was going to Dumbledore for help. As much as Peter wanted to Black and Potter to like him, he could not do the things that was asked of him. It was not in his nature to do those things. Peter would today just to get them off his back, but that was it. "You are right, Sirius I need to learn" Peter stated.
He was going to play along for now until he could get to Dumbledore to tell him everything. Sirius smirked as James came into view. "Do you need something? I just got to the Evans house, Sirius and I really want to get started on them" said James. Sirius gave him a smirk which James thought was funny. "What is going on, Sirius?" He asked.
Sirius gave a nod towards Peter who he let go of. Peter moved out of the way in case Sirius thought of doing anything else. "Peter here, wants to help us out James. I thought, the Evans would be good practice" Sirius said.
They both then started to laugh after Sirius had said that. Neither of them believed that Peter could do what they did. He was weak and not strong like them. James smirked back. "Alright Sirius, just think of me and you will be able to find me. We will see what Peter can do" James said giving Peter a look.
Peter wanted to run then, but he seemed to be frozen on the spot from fear. Sirius grabbed his arm to disappear with him once again. This time they were standing outside a nice house which had a nice car in the drive way. "We are here James. Shall we go in?" asked Sirius.
James gave him a pointed look. "If Peter is going to do this then he should go in first" James said with a big grin on his face.
Peter looked between the two before walking up the path. He was very nervous now, but he was going to do it. "What do I do?" he called out in his squeaky voice.
They both started laughing some more. "Just go up to the house and let your self in, Peter. They are muggles after all. You should be able to handle them" James called out.
Peter could not stand the fact that they were laughing at him. He didn't like that one bit. Peter slowly opened door with a hand that had started to sweat. There was sweat running down his forehead. It was too late to back out. A woman called out "Is that you Lily or Petunia?"
He felt like fainting right there. Peter turned around, but both Black and Potter were standing there. "Go on, Peter" they said together while laughing at him.
Peter inched towards the kitchen slowly. Upon entering it, he saw Mrs. Evans at the stove. Sirius banged his head on the wall to get her attention. She turned around at the noise. "May I help you boys?" She asked.
She thought they looked like some of the boys Lily had talked about. Mrs. Evans gave them a smile. Peter pulled his wand up, but his hand was shaking so bad that he dropped it, then peed himself because of his nerves. He was not cut out to do this stuff. James raised his wand. "Mrs. Evans you need to tell me where your daughter is now" James said.
He pointed it at her. She was very calm when she spoke even if she was scared on the inside. "I haven't seen my daughter in a few weeks Mister. Lily told me that she had a friend in need. So she would have to stop coming by. I think she said his name was Remus or something like that."
Mrs. Evans still had a smile on her face. James smirked. "Is there anything else you can tell us?" asked James.
He was glad that she was willing to talk. It made things easier. Plus he felt she was not a big threat and that she knew how to handle things. "No I can't. I am sorry" she said.
She was only telling them things to get them to leave. James frowned a little. "Sirius go take care of her husband while I take care of her" said James.
He gave Peter a nod to help him, but he saw that Peter would be of no help. "What are you going to do?" she asked.
James turned to give her a smile. "You will see" was all he said.
They could hear Sirius in the other room. "Hello Mr. Evans how are you?" Sirius asked. Mr. Evans went to answer when Sirius raised his wand. He mumbled "Avada Kedavra." Sirius did not feel like dealing with the man at all. He walked back into the room. "I took care of it James, Peter let's go you worthless piece of rat. You are of no use to us" Sirius said.
James was still looking at the woman. "Unless you tell us, anything else you will go the same way as your husband" said James.
She was very scared now. "I do not know where they are, but I did learn that the young man has a job at a book store" she said.
James used crucio on her several times before leaving. "Have a nice day" He said.
He appeared back to his flat where Sirius was laughing at Peter and what he could not do.
