"I- I don't know." I stuttered and started chewing in my nails. "Right, well, I better go." Lorenzo said and started walking slowly with his head down.
Geez. "Sure, why not?" I blurted out. Lorenzo stopped walking and picked his head up. He turned around and started smiling showing his perfect white, straight teeth. "But uh I gotta go to sleep before my grandparents yell at me." I said awkwardly and gave him an awkward wave with it.
"Yea, uh, I gotta go anyways." He smiled and waved bye to me and left.
After he left my grandma came out from where she was hiding. Talk about a ninja. "Well, he seems like a whiny boy." Grandma said.
"Tell me about it." I plopped down on the couch and stared at the blank, swirly ceiling. "Deary, then why'd you say yes? You do know you only say yes if you really want it." Grandma said and sat down beside me.
"I just felt bad and besides, it doesn't hurt to give him a chance." I smiled weakly at her and then looked down at my fingernails trying to avoid her staring beam.
"Sweetie, I know your lying." Grandma said laughing. "The part where I felt bad for him was true.." I mumbled into the pillow I was holding in my arms. "Honey, once upon a time when I was still young, I was in these type of relationships, and in the end, someone is going to get hurt." My grandma finally said and patted my knee.
I took a deep breath and thought about what she said. "It doesn't hurt to give him a chance." I said to myself again and went to my room.

"Grandma! Grandpa! I'm going to school now!" I shouted and left the house but also left a piece of paper on the dining table just in case.
Today was the first day of my new school. I wasn't sure if I should be nervous or what. I walked through the doors and looked around for my guidance counselor or the main office.
"Excuse me?" I tapped on a guy's shoulder and he turned around looking at me. "Do you mind showing me where the main office is?"
The guy kept staring at me but finally shrugged and said yes. We walked all the way in silence until we got to the door. "Here it is." He said opening the door for me. "Thanks!" I yelled as he walked away.
"Hey, I'm new here." I smiled but the lady didn't look up. Wow, friendly. "Name?" She said without looking up.
"Carly Parker." I said this time with no smile and she finally looked up. "Oh, no smile? That's rude." She teased and got my schedule. "Haha right. Thanks!" I grabbed my schedule with a smile and walked out of the office mumbling to myself.
"Not smiling? Oh how rude! Yea, me rude!" I shouted in the empty hallways.
"Help maybe?" I familiar voice asked behind me making me jump. I turned around only to find Lorenzo.
"Oh, hey." I gave him a smile and waved to him and he just stared at me. "Let me see your schedule." He said and reached for my schedule.
"Okay well, your in my homeroom so we can just walk together." Lorenzo gave me a wink and started walking, pulling me with him.

I made it to the end of the day alive and made some new friends: Wilson, Daryl, and Victoria but she goes by Tori.
The years flew by me in Rome and Lorenzo and I broke up the week before I was coming back home.
At the end of my last school year in Rome I made friends with so many people and so many enemies but hey, what's life if you don't have enemies?
