My Bad Boy Best Friend

Matt's POV

"You know, I think I'm going to go join them also." Connor said and left me.

Then there was one. "what the heck!" I walked away from the girl was that was trying to seduce me but failed, miserably.

I got to the 'dance floor' and I have to admit, it was pretty nice. I looked around for Carly and noticed she was talking with Richard.

Richard is this guy known for being a player and breaking girls hearts. But Carly doesn't know that because Richard came to our school around the time Carly left for Rome.

Richard had Carly against a wall with one arm on her left side of her head and the other arm at her right side of her hip. I was pretty sure he was going to make a move.

Lucky for me, a slow song came on so I walked over to Carly and asked "Do you want to dance?" I noticed she blushed when I finished my question. I have to admit, her blush was pretty adorable.

"So how do you like the party so far?" I asked, trying to make a conversation so it wouldn't be awkward. "It's beautiful here and you're a pretty good dancer might I add." Carly said while doing a little laugh.

God, she's so cute. No, cute doesn't describe her. Wonderful, adorable, great. So many words could describe her but whatever I use, doesn't sound like the right word to use. Damn, I sound like an emotional girl.

"You look beautiful." I said. She did this smile. A gorgeous smile that I've never seen from any girl on this planet. "Thank you." She replied smiling down at the ground.

A half smile crept onto my lips. No girl, ever, has made me feel this way. "You should keep that smile. It makes you look sexy," Carly said "but slightly cocky." She added, with a laugh. "I guess this song is done." She said, pulling away slowly.

"Yep. How about we dance to the next slow dance?" I suggested. "Why wait then? Why not now?" Carly asked.

"Alright." I said with a full smile and we danced to the best song ever.

After the third or fourth song Richard cut in asking if he could dance with Carly. Not wanting him to know that I have feelings for Carly, I let him.

I walked to a table and sat. I watched them, especially Richard. I couldn't stand him being with Carly... At all.

I was scared that he would make a move on her, since the lights are low and they're slow dancing.

But I was most afraid that he would have her and leave her with a broken heart in the end.

"How's Carly and Richard?" Logan said while walking up to my table. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Dude, just tell me. No one is around." Logan said in a duh voice. "Tell you what?"

"Stop being such a motherfucker and admit to me that you like Carly. I won't tell anyone."

"Why would I like her? She just got back from Rome, she's one my best friends, and she's the geek of the school." I replied still staring at Carly and Richard.

"Haven't you read books? Or seen movies?" Logan asked. "Is that a trick question?" I answered.

"Books or movies or whatever, there's these movies and books that I've read and the boy and girl are best friends and they start liking each other but they won't admit it and finally near the end of the book or movie, they finally admit their feelings to each other and they get together." Logan finished "Just like Romeo and Juliet." he added.

"Alright, what have you done with my best friend?" I stared at Logan. First of all, it's Logan! I never knew he read these books! Or any type of books !

"Ha ha. It's called reading romantic books because it impresses girls. When you know romantic, they'll stick to you like gum at the bottom of your shoe." Logan smirked and pulled out a chair. "Alright, if I admit it, you won't tell the guys?" I asked seriously.

"Promise. Cross my heart, hope to die." Logan replied crossing his heart.

"Okay. So I really like her ever since I can remember and when she moved to Rome, it killed me a little. And now that she's back I want her to be mine but Richard, it looks like he wants her too." I took deep breath "And my worst fear is that she'll take Richard and he'll leave her with a broken heart in the end." I finished feeling relieved.

"That's some deep shit." Logan smirked.

"Is that all you have to say?" I glared at Logan but realized he was staring at something else, blocking me out.

Turns out he was staring at Richard and Carly.

I turned to watch them and I felt as if my heart had been ripped out of my chest because it hurt me, so much to see what they were doing.
