Olivia was nervous. It was her first year of high school and she had read stories and watched movies that described those four years as absolute hell. What if she did not fit in? Would everyone hate her?

She found herself to be plain looking, with dull, straight, mousy brown hair that fell up to her back. She was too skinny, with practically no curves. The only feature she actually liked about her appearance were her brilliant blue- green eyes that sparkled like diamonds in the light.

She dressed simply in a white summer dress and ballet flats with her hair done in a fish braid. School was just a ten-minute walk away, so she and Harry decided to go together as their houses were nearby.

Harry was waiting by her porch. When he saw her, his face broke into a huge grin, showing off his adorable dimples. However, that grin faltered when he sensed her apprehension.

"What's wrong, Olive?"

"I'm so scared Harry. What if everyone hates me?"

He engulfed her in a hug, and stroked her hair.

"Olive, you are the most beautiful person I know, inside and out. Don't you ever depreciate yourself, okay?"

"Okay." She sniffed.

"If anyone ever tries to bully you, they have to get through me first. Don't you worry Olivia; I'll be your knight in shining armour."

In that moment, she completely believed his promise. Olivia felt grateful that she had him by her side.
