A/N: SO THE NEXT CHAPTER AFTER THIS ONE WILL BE THE LAST ONE OF "THE PAST"...WHICH MEANS MORE NEGAN!!!

This chapter is shorter so I apologize in advance! I just wanted to end the chapter at the point it ends and not continue it...you'll see why😏...enjoy!

"Glenn really seems to like you," Uncle Rick said.

"Yeah. He's really sweet," I smiled. "But I think he would've been skeptical of me had I not been related to you," I replied as I sat down to clean my arrows.

"I don't know. I don't think it would have taken him long to warm up to you. Glenn is a good kid. He cares about people. I think everyone will get use to you quickly."

"Except for Daryl," I sighed.

"He'll come around sooner or later."

"Yeah, I guess," with a hint of sadness in my voice. I don't know why, but I really wanted to Daryl to like me, or at least accept me. Part of it was due to the fact the he used a crossbow which meant I finally had someone to help me with my skills. Sure I was good, but I wasn't nearly as good as Daryl.

***

It was later that day and we were all sitting together eating dinner. "We haven't officially met, I'm Beth," Beth smiled at me from across the circle in which we were sitting. I was between Carl, who was holding his little sister who was still unnamed, and Uncle Rick.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Lilly, I smiled back, taking a bite of my rabbit leg.

"So, where are you from?" she asked.

"Georgia. Not too far from where Uncle Rick and Carl lived," I replied.

"Did you just say Uncle Rick?!" she exclaimed a little too loudly.

"Damn Beth, could ya be any louder? That was right in my ear," Daryl said. I snickered into my hand. "What was that?" Daryl asked.

"Oh, nothing," I said, quickly taking another bite, attempting to cover my smile.

"Ow!" Daryl said suddenly. He looked down to the little baby who had just kicked him. "Aren't you a little ass kicker?" he laughed lightly.

"You're such a wimp," I said.

"You don't know nothin bout me," Daryl said, sounding annoyed.

"I know you're a wimp," I smiled, getting laughs from the others. Daryl just huffed and rolled his eyes. We continued to eat and talk with mostly me doing the talking about what I have been doing since it all started. "I'm tired," I yawned. (lol I yawned while writing that)

"There's any empty cell at the end," Uncle Rick said.

"I'll get you a pillow and some blankets," Beth smiled.

I took my belongings down to the cell. I sat on the bed, or what was considered a bed, and grabbed the locket that was hanging around my neck. I opened it to see a picture of my family. Paul was the only one who could still be alive, but I knew that it was unlikely. Even if he was, the possibility of us even getting to Virginia were slim to none. Who knows whether or not he even stayed there when the world went to hell.

My thoughts were interrupted by Beth. "Here you are," she said, handing me everything.

"Thank you," I smiled. She returned the smile, and giving a short nod, turned to leave.

I got situated and set all of my belongings in the corner. I took off my boots, changing into the shorts and t-shirt that were given to me at that awful place where my father was killed, and crawled into bed, falling asleep within minutes.

***

I woke up the next day, sunlight streaming through the prison. I sat up, stretching my arms above my head. I stood up and quickly got dressed back into my "normal clothes", put on my boots, threw my hair up, and went out to see where everyone was at. I saw Uncle Rick and Daryl whispering to one another while Beth and Carl played with the baby, feeding her what looked like milk. So, I assumed that Glenn and Maggie had come back.

"Morning guys," I yawned as I walked towards Uncle Rick and Daryl. (lol did it again! It's late at night rn)

"Lilly, I need to tell you something, but you can't freak out," Uncle Rick said.

"Okay," I replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Glenn and Maggie haven't come back."

"But they said by mid-morning right? It's not that late, is it?"

"It's after one in the afternoon," Daryl said.

"Are you serious?!" I asked, my eyes getting wide.

"I'm afraid so," Uncle Rick nodded.

"I want to go find them, please," I begged.

"No, I don't want you going out there," Uncle Rick replied.

"We can't just leave them out there. And I know that area better than anyone!"

"No Lilly! This is not up for debate!" Uncle Rick said, raising his voice.

"But I care about them! I know he took them, and they need our help! Before it's too late!" I nearly yelled, tears sliding down my cheeks. "He could kill them...just like he killed my father."

"Who? Who is he?" Uncle Rick asked me.

"He calls himself the Governor."

A/N: Again, I apologize for this being so short...and for not updating for nearly a month. School is crazy and I am very busy. The next chapter is so far my favorite. I'm not done writing it (on paper) yet. But it's getting there!
