A/N: This was one of my favorite chapters to write thus far, even though it's quite sad. I almost cried writing the last part of the chapter. Hope y'all like it! Enjoy! :)

"Lilly, come on. I give up," Carl groans.

"Boo!" I yell as I jump up from behind the fence I was crouched down behind.

"What the hell! I checked there!" he stomps his foot.

"Well I moved," I smirk.

"That's not fair! I'm done playing with you," he turns his nose up at me and starts to head back to the prison.

"Come on Carl. Don't be such a bad sport," I laugh as I walk behind him.

"Lilly, are you being mean to Carl," Hershel pretends to scold from the garden.

"Yes!" Carl yells up ahead.

"No I wasn't! I was just clever, that's all," I smirk as Carl and I get closer to the door.

"That's called—"

"Oh, sorry," Maggie says, laughing a little as she opens the door to come out, nearly hitting Carl in the head with it.

"It's okay, you didn't—"

Carl is cut off by the sound of a single gunshot. We all turn our heads at the same time.

"Noooo!!" Maggie screams as Hershel's body falls to the ground. She starts to run towards him but I grab her.

"Maggie, no! We HAVE to get inside!" I yell.

She looks like she's gonna fight me when a couple bullets miss just around us and we run through the door.

"What the hell is going on!" Uncle Rick yells as he runs towards us.

Maggie at this point has gone into shock. "It's Hershel," I croak, "he's been shot. He's dead."

I shoot up in bed, sweating buckets.

"Hey, are you okay?" Grayson asks with concern in his voice.

I look at him and immediately start crying.

He pulls me into his chest. "Did you have a bad dream?" he asks, rubbing my back.

I shook my head. "No, it wasn't a bad dream." I tilt my head to look into his eyes. "It was a memory," I sniffle. "It was when one of our group members died. It was so unexpected. He was murdered right in front of us. We were under attack after that. We won, wiped out what was left of the Governor's group. We didn't lose anyone else. However, I did get a pretty nasty wound," I tell him, pulling down my shirt slightly to reveal a scar just below my collar bone.

"God, Lilly. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can only imagine what else you've gone through. Who you've lost. Yet, in this short time that I've known you, I never would've guessed it. You're so brave," his eyes quickly flicker to my lips before refocusing on mine, "and strong..." He begins to lean in and I find myself doing the same, my heart pounding. His lips brush against mine when suddenly gun shots ring out. We quickly jump apart.

"What the hell!" Grayson says as he jumps out of bed.

I quickly follow. "I have to go throw on something that's not, well, this," I say, indicating to the shorts and baggy t-shirt I have one. "I'll meet you in the hall in like one minute," I yell to him as I rush down to my room.

I throw on my jeans and tank top and brown leather jacket that were given to me when I got here. I throw on my boots, grab my bow and arrows along with Glenn's knife, and throw up my hair as I rush out the door, nearly colliding with Grayson. I unintentionally give him a once over, not missing the t-shirt he put on that shows off practically every muscle of his upper body.
