I just noticed my major screwup in this chapter so I fixed it😂

I shot up in my bed. "It was just a dream," I whisper to myself. I start thinking to myself the reasons as to why I would have dreamt of something like that in the first place. It's not like I had feelings for Daryl. He was like another older brother to me. I mean it would be like kissing Paul. I shudder at the thought.

"Lilly, dinner is ready," I here Daryl knock at my door.

"Coming," I reply, quickly throwing my boots back on. I open the door to see him waiting for me.

"How was your nap?"

"Good," I say quickly, probably too quickly.

He looks at me with a questioning look, but doesn't ask anything else. Instead, he just says, "Good."

We make our way outside where Jerry greets us. "Come this way," he instructs, leading us towards another building. As we enter the building, I can see a large table with many people around it, including Ezekiel and Morgan.

"It's nice of you to join us this evening!" Ezekiel smiles broadly.

"Thank you for your hospitality," I nod as we take our seats.

After dinner, Daryl and I started back for our place when Morgan stopped us.

"I need to show you guys something," he said in a low whisper.

I gave him a questioning look. "What is it?"

"You'll just have to come with me. Let's grab some weapons and I'll show ya."

So, we followed Morgan to where the weapons were stored. He just told the guy we were going out for a bit. He handed Daryl a crossbow and me a bow and arrows. Huh, would've thought they'd have exactly what Daryl and I were best at. Daryl tries not to show it, but I know he's happy to be holding one in his hands again, even if it isn't his own.

"Let's go," Morgan ushers.

"So, can ya tell us where we're goin?" Daryl asks as the gates close behind us.

"No, you'll just have to wait," he replies. "It's not that far."

Not long after, we arrive in front of a worn down house.

"Okay, well, I'm going to leave now because if she sees me now, she might just kill me," Morgan says, already beginning to walk back towards the Kingdom.

"What the hell ya talkin bout?" Daryl yells to him.

"You'll see. I promise you're not in any danger...just me. She'll be thrilled to see you both!" he yells back.

Daryl and I look at one another and just shrug. We open up the gate, making sure to shut it behind us.

Daryl was the one to knock and I just stand off to the side.  The door opens to reveal Carol. The look on her face when she sees Daryl is...well I don't know how to describe it. They hugged one another, both of them on the verge of crying.

"How?" she whispers, barely audible.

"Jesus took us to the Kingdom. Morgan brought us out here without really much of an explanation," Daryl replies.

Then she looked over to me,"Hi, Lilly," she smiled at me, wiping a stray tear and giving me a hug as well. "You know, if it were almost anyone else he brought here, I would probably kill him," she laughs lightly. "Come in." She leads us in, locking the door behind us.
