Five Years Ago.
Blue Reef High.
Aiden Walker.
Aiden shook his head and chuckled when he saw his best friend so immersed in yet another fantasy book, that he didn't notice the upcoming traffic, and was now yelled at by some frightened woman who just dropped off her kid.
He jogged across the street and caught up with him, amazed that he was still reading and not paying any mind to the outside world. Typical Adam, Aiden mumbled, gently putting his arm around his nerdy friend, who squeaked in surprise, almost dropping his glasses.
"I thought we agreed that you'd stop reading when you're outside? You frightened that woman. Just look how shaken she looks."
His friend didn't bother to look back, shrugging and pushing back his reading glasses over his nose bridge, showing a bright smile. It caught Aiden by surprise when he saw that the braces were gone.
"You took them off?!"
Humming with a goofy grin, his best friend pulled him towards the front gate.
"This was the reason I couldn't finish this chapter yesterday. I was so excited that I ate all the food I couldn't enjoy before!"
Aiden eyed his skinny friend up and down, snorting.
"Yet, not an ounce heavier. You should consider joining the wrestling team, maybe that way you'll grow some muscles."
Adam huffed with an adorable pout. They stopped in front of his locker to grab the needed books for the first period.
"That way I get to face that creep every day." He said in a bored tone. "And I don't like violence."
The creep was one of the jocks and the best friend of the bad boy himself. Silas has some weird interest in his friend, and ever since Adam was outed by some stupid bitches at school, he started treating him nicely.
Way too nice if you ask Aiden.
Silas was known for being a virginity popper. A playboy, or escort as he often referred to himself. He'd target those who never had a first and be their first. He'd cruelly toss them away after he'd get what he wanted. He didn't care if it was a boy or a girl as long as he'd get his thrill. That's why Aiden and Adam chose to name him 'The creep', although Aiden preferred to call him a man-whore instead.
Adam being as dense as he always is, couldn't tell that Silas was flirting with him, and he would cling to Aiden and try his best to avoid him. He thought that he was bullying him and didn't think that someone like Silas would find a romantic interest in him.
