SOCIETY~My Life

My life has consisted of many things. 

I was born in a wrecked economy. 

I have lived a life of saving money, and cutting coupons.

 I have lived a life of small presents under a small christmas tree. 

I have lived a life within my state, getting to know my own soil well. 

I have lived on a diet of chicken almost everyday, because who wants to pay the price of hamburger. 

I have lived a life going through thrift stores. 

I have lived a life of parents telling me they wished they could give better. 

I have lived a life in a war, I never knew about. 

In poverty I never noticed.

Now I will be living through a president I do not want. 

Now I might be living through a war I never even thought could happen. 

Yet

I am told to keep my head up high. 

I will do this. 

I will look for the brighter side of things. 

For it is all I have ever done.

I realize things are much worse is other areas of my world. I am not trying to throw a pity party for me. 

I feel the need to write this, for everyone living after 9/11, because you all know what it is like to go thru this.  

Especially for the teenagers, like me, who have only ever known this world we live in.
