After the most incredible sex in the pool, changed into jeans and top, Jodie took Xavier grocery shopping, making him carry the basket as she hunted down fresh produce in a deli. "Now this is a first for me," he looked at the basket uncertainly.
"That's right, you have a cook. She won't mind, if I cook in her kitchen," she asked, knowing how some people were very possessive of their kitchens.
"It's my home, not hers, and I gave you permission."
She took a quick peek. He looked completely at ease, long limb man dressed in dark pants and pale blue shirt, cuffs back, top buttons undone. Her whole body sighed at the sight of him. "Even if I burn it down?"
He smiled, eyes twinkling. "I trust you not to do so."
"Oh, that's new, since you didn't last time."
"Can you blame me after nearly taking out my Ming vase?"
She removed garlic and tested, making sure it was fresh and added to the basket. "You're not going to let me forget that, are you?"
"No, not ever."
She eyed him sideways. "Well, what can I do to rectify that?" She enquired.
"Let's see how special this meal is, then maybe," he offered.
"Your special Spanish night?" He nodded. "Good, come with me." Using him as a translator, she found the best produce. One lady spoke perfect English and together they went off, Xavier dogging their steps.
"I want to add something special to my meal."
"So what are you having?"
"Chicken," she answered.
"And?"
"All those lovely fresh vegetables and spices."
The older lady looked back towards Xavier with interest. "For him?"
"Yes, he's my man and cooking my very first meal," she enthused, grinning.
"Get rid of him," she whispered, since he was standing close by, behind them.
Jodie swung around. "Babe?"
"Yes?" He answered warily, arching a brow.
"I need wine!" Then frowned, probably not her best choice.
"We do?"
"To go with the meal, but you don't drink."
"Who said so? Leave it with me, red or white?"
"White and something from the region. All out Spanish tonight." She rushed over to him and kissed his cheek. "Thank you."
"You are trying to get rid of me."
"Not my idea," she smiled. "I might be getting some secret recipe handed down from generation to generation."
"You wish, that is only given to family, so you would have to marry the son. So no."
She pressed up against him. "Shall I relieve you of your wares, sir?"
His dark eyes swept over, warming her all over, curling her toes with that one look. "At what cost?"
She rose on her toes in offer. "A kiss?" She kissed him, then removed the basket and joined the woman as they went around, getting what they needed. Using her phone, she found a recipe, gathering all the ingredients, and wrote down instructions from the older woman, who was only too happy to help. A very traditional Spanish meal.
