After the cafe, we roamed around, till we found a small pond. The two of us sat down on one of the park benches facing the water, enjoying the comfortable silence.

The sun was beginning to go down, an orange glow filling the sky. The bench could probably fit three people and yet Will and I were seated close to each other, shoulders nearly bumping.

Will sighed, a content smile on his face. I watched him, the corners of my lips perking up in a slight smile. The sky sent rays of orange cascading across his face. His golden hair seemed to shine and glimmer alongside the light.

He turned slightly and his eyes met mine. My face heated up, realizing he had caught me staring.

Yet, I didn't look away. It was like we were in a trance, he was leaning forward, only inches apart by now.

His eyes began to close and I found myself leaning forward as well.

Everything was moving in slow motion. We were millimetres apart, his hand had reached up and rested on my shoulder.

Were we... about to kiss?

And then a phone blared, interrupting the scene.

Will pulled away, sighing. He reached into his pocket, answering the call.

"What the hell do you want Jason?" he sounded annoyed. I turned away from his, staring blankly at the water.

I don't know whether I was thankful for that call or disappointed.
