ch.8 | oh brother

-Klaus-
It was already midnight and Cassandra was wasted. Once we got in the car, she fell asleep in my arms. Damon slept over at Bonnie's because he was wasted as well. I guess it runs in the family. Stefan and I were the only sober ones, surprisingly and Stefan decided to drive.
"Klaus, can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead, Stefan."
"Do you care for my sister?"
"She's different. Not like anything I've seen before. I want to protect her, care for her. "
"That's good. Just don't hurt her, ok?"​
"I would never. After what's she's been through, I'd never think to hurt her."
"Thank you. Cassie has always done so much for me and Damon, especially after Mom and Dad died. Thank you for making her happy. "
"Anything for her." I say while staring down at Cassandra, peacefully sleeping.
I carried Cassandra into the house and brought her up to her room and let her down quietly.
I went downstairs, getting ready to leave.
"Klaus, it's really late. Just sleep on the couch, I'll get you a blanket." Stefan suggests since it was like 2 am already.
"Thank you, Stefan."
"You're welcome." He says as he hands me a blanket.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Klaus."
