Back to Lacy's POV:
By the time we leave Costa it's gone 2 o'clock and the cold air is getting too much for me,
"I think I should go home now" I say turning to Chris, "You know, spend time with the family at Christmas and all that stuff"
He laughs, "Ok, I'll walk you home"
I smile as we turn left toward my road, stuffing my hands in my pocket to keep them warm,
"So tell me about George" Chris starts, "Your first boyfriend is a big deal"
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" I moan, "My first boyfriend"
"Because it's true"
"But still" I trail off, "Anyway he's nice, cute, funny, sweet, caring..."
"Woah wait, don't just list every good word in the dictionary" he chuckles, "Tell me about how you met and stuff"
I smile thinking back to the memory, "Me and Kayla were in London when I walked into one of his band members by accident"
He grins, "Sounds like something you would do"
I carry on, ignoring his comment, "So we got talking and then he got on really well with Kayla, so they were chatting and I was sitting there awkwardly when George comes along, and asks me if I want to go and get something to eat with him"
"And you said yes?"
"Yep"
"So he's kind of like a hero, saving you from the awkwardness"
I punch him playfully on the arm, "You're making it sound so cheesy"
He grins again, "And was it like love at first sight"
I pause, I remember the feeling got when I saw him, kind of like a buzz in my stomach, it was odd.
"I'm not sure, there was something about him which was just so... attractive, and then I got to know him and I guess I just fell in love"
He raises an eyebrow at me, "You just said you love him"
"I do"
"And he knows that?"
"We say it all the time"
"But I mean when you actually seriously mean it, you're not in that kind of love"
I sigh, "I love him, ok?"
He shrugs, "Fair enough"
"So" i say, changing the conversation, "Are you doing anything special for Christmas"
He shakes his head of blonde hair, "Nope, just the usual big dinner and hours of pretending we all get along"
"Sounds like my family" I giggle,
"I don't understand the fuss really, it's just another day of the year"
"Exactly" I say, then I pause, "But I'm determined to have fun this Christmas"
"What? why?"
"Because everyone else seems to love it, and I want to experience the excitement on Christmas morning and the love from your family... even if its just for one day"
"Wow" Chris says, "It's like a new Lacy I'm talking to"
I smile, "I guess things change"
He nods, "I suppose"
We turn the corner to my house and I pause at the gate, "Thank you for today"
"My pleasure" he smiles,
I laugh, turning and running up the cobbled steps and straight into my house.
As soon as I shut the door behind me mum appears,
"Your just in time for a Christmas film" she smiles, "Unless you want to go and hibernate in your room like usual"
I roll my eyes, "It's not hibernating, and I'll watch it"
Her facial expression changes from shock to pure happiness, "Seriously?"
I smile, "Yes, as long as I get to chose which one"
She grins, "Of course"
That night I spend the evening watching Christmas films with my family, and for once I actually enjoy spending time with them.
Hopefully I'll be updating a few chapters in each day, instead of just one!
