She looked like a princess
In the red bridal dress
Dressed so elegantly
She was ready to impress

She stepped on the stage,
When he held her hand..
Butterflies fluttered in the tummy
Playing their own band

Lots of dreams in her eyes
And with a fear in her heart
She entered her new life
Destiny would play its part..

"You are a girl, you must adjust"
This she had often heard..
"But will he adjust for me too?"
The question was left unheard.

"You will have to obey him.."
The elders chanted
"But wouldn't we be equals?"
Her mind always ranted

But that day on the stage,
Her heart skipped several beats
When the groom sat on his knee
Holding a rose so sweet

"You will be my partner
Having an equal say
We'll adjust and evolve
Knowing eachother everyday"

Listening to his words
Tears made their way out
She was glad to find a real partner
To the world, she wanted to shout..

On their wedding day,
He had cleared all her doubts
She had found her prince
Sun had finally come out of the clouds

Sun had finally come out of the clouds
