Danny's POV
"You're Kate?" I eyed her suspicious. "Yes, now let me see my daughter." "You're Kate, the Kate who got pregnant, had Rose and then left her with Steve?" She looked down and fiddled with her keys. "Yes." "Hold on." I opened the door and walked in.
Steve's POV
I heard the door open and I saw Danny walking in. "Hey Danno. She just fell asleep." I smiled. "Steve." At the seriousness in my partners voice I looked up. "What's wrong?" He opened his mouth and then shut it again. "Kate is outside the door..." What? No, she left 13 years ago. "What is she doing here?" "She wants to see Rose." "No, Danny absolutely not. She left 13 years ago and never looked back." I said with a tear running down my face. "I'll let her know."
Danny's POV
I walked out and closed the door. "So? Can I go in now?" "No, Steve doesn't want you in there." "She's my daughter too, he can't decide if I get to see her or not!" "Yes he can. She may be your biological daughter but Steve has custody of her and since she's not 18 she can't decide anything." "I will get back at him for this!" She screamed while walking away. I opened the door quietly again and slipped in. "She's gone." I heard Steve let out a sigh. "How can she do that Danny?" "Do what?" "Abandon your own child and then 13 years later, wanna come back just cause she's hurt? What happens when she gets better? Will she just leave again?" "I don't know, Steve, I really don't know. But she has you and you have her. And she has the most amazing uncle." I heard him scoff. "Yeah right." We both laughed. God, why did I have to fall for him. The straightest guy I've ever known. He even has a daughter! Right now I'll just have do deal with him being my friend and nothing more
Steve's POV
"Yeah right." I said and his laugh was the best sound in the world right now. God why do I have to love this man more than a friend when he is obviously straight. He even has Grace. I have Rose. I'm straight too, right...?
Danny's POV
I was about to say something when the door open. We both sat with our backs towards the door so I thought it was Kono or Chin but, boy were I wrong.
