John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
This is a very important verse- one of the most well known in the bible. God is perfect; he has never sinned, and he makes no mistakes. We are all sinners, every single one of us. If you say that you aren't, it's simply not true. We have have sinned before. I have sinned countless times in my life. And as Romans 6:23 says:
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We all deserve death. But God, in his mercy, sent his perfect Son, his only Son, who had done no wrong, to die instead of us. Jesus came down to earth and died a painful criminal's death for a crime he did not commit. He went from king to servant. The Romans whipped him, spat on him, and nailed him on a wooden cross to die. He spent 3 whole days in hell, before he was raised to the dead. Jesus could have called on a host of angels to rescue him at any time. But he didn't. He died a painful death to pay for our sins. Now, we can have eternal life in Heaven, if only we believe in Him.
If you ever feel like you're not special, you're wrong. God loves you. He cares about you so much, that he died on the cross for your sins. He is always watching over you. He is always there for you. He will not forsaken you.
