Chapter 14: Too Late

Max's Pov

I woke up groaning. My head was hurting so much. Tired as well. I opened my eyes. I shook my head and blinked rapidly trying to gain my vision back. As vision came back to me I saw I was in...uh...a not so good apartment. The walls were scratched with some of the paint chipped off. I heard a lot of cars passing by. I smelt...uh...what? Oh man that was a strong smell, but it smells like something. My head started hurting again. Oh geez what happened last night? I layed my head back on the purple dog bed trying to think. Wait dog bed? I look down and saw that I was on a purple dog bed. I sniffed it. I recognized the smell immediately. It was that one female dog I met last night. Then it all started coming back to me. Where I went with my friends. When I met, Angeline. And what happened after we left the club to her house-.

I looked to my side. And then...

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" I screamed. I jumped out of the bed. I saw Angeline wake up from my scream.

"Huh? *yawn* I'm up. I'm up," she said. She looked at me and went wide eyes.

"What's wrong, Max?" she asked me concerned.

"W-what h-happened last n-night?" I asked stuttering.

She smiled. "Don't you remember Max? We went home to my place and then, well, it should be obvious."

My eyes widened. "What should be obvious?"

"*scoff* Uh we mated. Duh."

...My mind just went off like a bomb. Please, oh please tell me she didn't say what I think she just said.

"W-we w-what?"

" Do I have to spell it out for you? We...mated."

Oh god. Oh god. She did say it. I started hyperventilating. We mated. We mated. WE MATED!

"I have to say Max," she stretched,"you really know how to please a lady. Unlike the last dog I've been with."

I got furious.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?"

She got a little startled by my outburst. Then she smirked. "I didn't do anything. I just felt."

"YOU LYING TRAMP!"

"Whoa, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?"

"No! I kiss my girl-!" I paused.

Oh no. Gidget!

"I can't let her find out."

"Uh who?" Angeline looked at me in curiosity.

"MY GIRLFRIEND!" I startled her again.

"Oh," she said quietly. "I-I didn't know-."

"That I wasn't single!? That because I didn't come to the club with a girl I was all for the taking!? That I was an opportunity!?"

"...Yes."

I started looking around.

"I need to leave now." I said to myself.

"I can-."

"I don't need your help!" She wined this time.

I ran out her apartment. I saw what street I was on. It was close to where I lived. It was morning time. I think about seven o'clock. So I ran in the direction of home.

I made it home and saw Duke at the door. I guess Katie left already.
