Chapter 8 [EDITED]

A/N: So I know it's been a long time since I last updated and that is because I was seriously considering on wether I should continue this or not since only a few read this. But then again I started to write this story not because I want this to be popular but because I wanted to write my own twist to my favorite mamga of all time. So yeah!

Kail's POV

It's been a day since Alexandria and Tito has gone missing and I don't have any idea where there might be. I searched everywhere but I found nothing. Ilbani keeps on apologizing even though I told him that it is fine. I can't be angry with him when I know full well that it is because of his concern for me that he did such thing.

Rusafa, Mittanawa and Kash are helping me find her. But we're doing it discreetly so that the people of Hattusa don't find out. We are currently staying at an inn near the forest since it took us a long time to search around the forest for her, but in the end, we failed to see her.

Currently, we have to move out soon because father said that there would be a sacrifice later this day and I have to be present.
"Your highness, we are prepared to move out." Ilbani informed me. I nodded at him and started to walk out off the inn.  I just hope that I can still find Alexandria and Tito. I am still confused on why Tito is missing. Our only guess is that he is together with Alexandria. I hope they are fine.

"Let's move out!" I ordered.

Third Person's POV

The hall where the offering for their god Teshub are already full with people and all the royals have arrived except for the queen and the sacrifice.

Kail is getting impatient since all he wanted to do is find the only girl who managed to stole his heart.
"So Kail, I heard you've been quite busy. Can you tell me about it?" The emperor asked the prince.

Kail doesn't know how to answer his father. He is contemplating wether to tell his father about Alexandria or not. But before he could answer, the queen, Nakia presented the woman who will become their offering for Teshub. Kail's heart almost stopped when he saw that the woman he's been searching for was with the queen all along.

The queen and Prince Kail never liked each other since the queen has been trying ever since to make his son Juddah the crown prince. And Kail being a strong candidate to the throne makes him a big hindrance to that plan of hers. And the prince knew how corrupt the queen is. Too bad he hasn't found any evidence against her. A lot of people became a victim by her conniving tactics.

All the people with Kail was shocked to see that the woman that they were searching for was in the hands of the most dangerous woman in Hattusa. They wanted to saved the woman but knew they couldn't do anything so they only look at their prince and wait for his orders. Knowing that he will try to save the woman who manage to stole their hearts.

The soldiers brought the unconscious woman towards the offering table and one of them get ready for the sacrifice.

Queen Nakia positioned herself at the center of the table and started her prayer.

"Oh great Teshub, god of gods! I pray to you for the blessing of rain and for the fertility of our land. I send to you this untainted virgin. Receive this tribute, grant our wish!" The queen shouted. A soldier neared the sleeping woman and lifted his arm, holding an axe, ready to chop the lady's head. But before the killing weapon got the chance of touching the porcelain skin of the woman a wine glass hit the hands of the soldier creating a disturbance in the ceremony. The people immediately started to whisper wondering the reason why prince Kail did it. Even the royals are looking at him.

"Who? Who was that? How dare you insult Teshub by interfering with the ritual?" Nakia shouted. Irritated by the interruption.

"It wasn't insult. In fact it is quite the opposite, mother dearest." Prince Kail who were currently walking towards the lying girl stated. The crowed goes wild, wondering what he is talking about.

"Prince Kail, are you the one who throws the cup? What do you mean 'opposite'? It doesn't matter that you are the emperor's son. Under this circumstances, your actions are inexcusable." Queen Nakia reprimanded Kail while trying to stop him from getting near to the girl.

In that moment, the girl, Alexandria started to gain consciousness. When her eyes fluttered open she was shocked that she's no longer on that cell and then she remembered the past events. The queen knocked her out when she was trying to save Tito.

She surveyed her surroundings and was surprised that not only the queen was there but also a huge crowd was watching her. She frowned at that. She tried to crane her neck even more to see who else was there other than the queen and the huge crowd of people but due to her position she couldn't do so. The next thing she noticed was the discarded axe near her and she shuddered from the thought that she almost died and wouldn't have known.

"Hold on mother dearest. I do not wish to deceive our god so I intervened." Her head snapped to the direction of  Kail's voice as she heard him. Her heart started to beat fast.
'Is he the reason why I am not dead yet?' Alexandria thought.

"Let's see..." Kail went near her and removed the cloth covering her mouth to see her face fully.
"Huh?" Alexandria muttered.
"So she is that girl." Kail uttered loud enough for the others to hear. Even though Alexandria was confused, she let Kail run the show. After all she is not dumb to not notice that the prince is trying to save her.
"Dear father, isn't purity a requirement for our offerings to Teshub?" Kail asked.
"Yes." The emperor quickly answered wondering what his son is up to.
"Then knowing that the tribute is impure. And keeping quiet knowing that the tribute is impure is inexcusable, is it not? Then I have no choice but to confess.." Kail hugged Alexandria.

The others are waiting for what the prince has to say. Ilbani, Kash, Rusafa, Mittanawa and Kikkuri waited on what the prince will say hoping that he will be able to bring their princess back to his castle safely.

"I have already made this girl mine once. Not knowing that she is a tribute, I stole her chastity." Kail declared. Alexandria's eyes widened and she could feel her blood rush to her face. She knows that her face is as red as a tomato. But despite being embarass she made no move to dispute his words even though they knew that isn't true, knowing that it is the only way to save her.

"Girl, does the prince speak truly?" The emperor asked. And she could feel her face getting hotter because of being forced to admit such thing. She nodded her head in affirmation. Having no choice but to agree.

"Therefore I will make amends. I will put this girl under my custody and will send a hundred virgin cows and goats. That should comply to the usual customs, right father?" The emperor nodded his head in agreement.

"But your majesty!" Queen Nakia tried to oppose but was ignored by the emperor. 'That prince!' Nakia thought furiously.

"Kail, I don't care that you are a womanizer but try to shape up and settle down with a proper princess." The emperor reprimanded Kail gently.

"Yes father." After answering his father, Kail lifted Alexandria bridal style and moved out of the hall.

Kail looked at  Alexandria and once again was mesmerized by her beauty. Kail realized that Alexandria's eyes doesn't show fear from earlier's event. Even though she seemed to not be afraid, he was. It wasn't noticeable but his heart almost stop when he saw her lying on that stone table unconscious and almost has her neck cut off. It felt like his heart was about to be ripped of his chest. So he promised then and there. 'Never again. Never again would I let you face danger.' Kail promised with himself. He hold Alexandria closer to himself.

Alexandria put her hands on his chest to get his attention since it seems like he's deep in his thoughts. Although she doesn't wish to disturb him, she has to save Tito. When she has the attention of not only Kail but Ilbani, Mittannawa, Kash, Rusafa and Kikkuri as well, she muttered the words that made the group of men tense.

"We have to save Tito. Please."
