It was the first class of the day.
Things in this school are different than others, it doesn't have that many students. We're like 15 in our class, 30 counting the other class, and the school is huge for no apparent reason.
Let me stop the rants and get on with the first class. Biology."Hm. Would you look at that. There's the girl I met at the basketball court." A familiar voice approaches me, the person sits right by me.
"Hunter." I'm in utter surprise, my face oddly smiles, uncontrollably, it was... Weird. I immediately try to play it off cool incase he thought I was just hooking onto the thrill of his presence.
"Oh my god!"
"That's him?!"
I could hear Emma and Chung get excited about him at the corner of the room. I feel extremely embarrassed. He turns his head and looks back at them, giving them a look of confusion and discomfort. But they seemed way too distracted to even notice."How sweet. You remembered my name." He gives off a very riveting smirk.
"Hm." I fake a simple laugh.
He didn't even bother to ask about my name.. It kind of bothered me and made me feel extremely desperate.
"God I wanna get out of here." He whispers under his breath.
"What?" I subtly freak out, I knew I shouldn't have told Chung nor Emma about him. He must feel so uncomfortable. I assume that must be the reason he's already sick of school.
"No one wants to be in boarding school." He shakes his head with a very blunt look on his face with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh trust me. If there's anyone who hates being here it's me." My head turns back to him while I return the look, trying not to smile again.
"Basketball and hatred for school. You're not that bad." He scoffs.
"I'll take that as a compliment?" I roll my eyes with a small smile on my face. This time, I'm trying not to make it as big.
"Okay, it's biology let's get focused."
The teacher begun talking, Hunter looked completely bored and uninterested in the lesson. Could've sworn he fell asleep half of it.
"Alright that's it for today class. I'm going to ask everyone what you've learned during this lesson. Oh I see we have a new student, Hunter is that it?" Hunter seems half asleep, I tap on his arm trying to wake him up. He nearly jumps off his seat. I chuckle a little.
"Yes ma'm."
"Tell us what you learned today Hunter."
"Umm." He glances over at me screaming for help on the inside.
I decide to hand him some notes so he can peak through a few words in my book.
"Right. So I believe we were talking about living things with mental disabilities, and how they can work using their brain, because it's not really easy for them-" Saved by bell. The bell rings just in time before he embarrasses himself as a new student in front of the entire class, and lets just say it's never best to be blacklisted by the Bio teacher.
Everyone rushes out of class."Hey, I never really caught your name." I notice Hunter walking behind me already catching up to my speed, so now he wants to know my name.
"Zoe!" I blurt out abruptly. Keep it together Zoe, that seemed very desperate. "Um. It's Zoe." I repeat in a more calm tone as he nods his head as if he didn't care, before he could say anything, he just walked away. He just walked away. I'm still trying to process that in my head, it does kind of bother me.
"Zoe. That was him?!" Emma screams, it was so loud I'm pretty sure every single person in the hallway heard us. I see Hunter turn his head towards us, he looks very alarmed and confused, I smack my head on the palm of my hand once again, a very familiar kind of embarrassment.
"Yes Emma. And could you please keep your voice down!" My eyes are so wide they feel like they could pop out of my socket any minute, while my teeth are clenched so tightly in discomfort.
"He's pretty cute." Chung subtly smiles, her voice is pretty mellow and not as obvious as before, which makes me extremely relieved, I freaked out when I saw her heading towards us, I didn't know if she'd have the same loud reaction.
"You know he does vandalism?" A boy whom I rarely ever talk to approaches us out of the blue, I didn't know what to say about his statement.
"And how do you know that?" I move closer to his direction so I could feel like I was having a proper conversation with him.
"I used to go to school with that guy, he like, got suspended, missed school for like a year then came back, and now he ended up here with me. Ironic huh?" He attempts to walk away but Emma stops him so she can get more information.
"Vandalism? I mean just be more clear, maybe give us some more details..." She stands right in front of him.
"Well, the guy destroyed stuff, totally jacked them up, like every single day, around our school and stuff. He was like the total bad boy. And very popular with the ladies, guys too, depending on the day." He shrugs.
I unclench my jaw after that statement he made.
"Thank you, um, well nice talk. But we have a conversation to continue." Emma gets the signal by my cringe and slight disappointment and we walk back into our small circle.
We ended up talking about vacation and where we wanted to go. We only had about 2 months till our next break. But during our conversation I couldn't help but notice Hunter walking around with some girl, she was gorgeous, I couldn't help but have this lump in my throat, it made my feel kind of.. Jealous, but no, I can't be jealous of her and Hunter, together, I just met the guy yesterday, it's a bit ridiculous I'd say. I keep trying to control my feelings, making all the yes's, no's.
Okay guys, so in the next chapter, you'll get to meet a new male character, one of Ivy's best friends, lots of interesting events occur in that chapter, more Zoe and Hunter stuff goes down!
