Christian's P.O.V
Anastasia's mother and I have been in the living room talking from the night before trying to come up with a plan. After I gave Anastasia a drive home I stayed and talked to her mother. I've been meaning to talk to her earlier about not telling me about Anastasia's recovery. I've been a bit busy lately and I was trying to limit my visits here because I didn't feel it was safe.
She had told me that Anastasia was sound asleep upstairs. What she didn't know was that what she thought was happening up there wasn't exactly so. I could hear everything that was going on and so I knew she woke up some time after midnight to throw up whatever her mother was feeding her.
It was sometime after five by now.
"So is it working?" She asked
"Not really, if you call continuously having faint spells when I'm around progress, then I'm not sure what progress is then" I said emphasising the word 'progress'.
"Please just keep trying" she pleaded.
This lady needed some rest, she's been up all night and was paying for it. She had bloodshot eyes and was basically living off the coffee to stay awake. I on the other hand didn't necessarily have the need to sleep. I could stay up for months if I wanted to.
"Sir" Nicolyde called to me, he stood furthest in the room as Anastasia's mother and I talked.
He walked over to the couch that I was seated in and whispered in my ear.
"She's hiding behind the door at this very moment Sir"
Oh really now, that was a bit unexpected. The very moment I had my guard down. I felt foolish for even having my guard down at all.
"I see" I said in response when I spotted her. She hid behind the door but I could see her head slightly even though it was dark.
Her mother soon understood what was going on and looked as well.
I could hear the beating of her heart pick up a bit as we did this and I smiled being that I couldn't help myself, she seemed so innocent.
But I knew better.
"Anna?" Her Mom called to her.
She finally found the courage and walked out from behind the door, stepping into the room.
Her walking was slow and timid. I could hear her heart down right racing like crazy by now. I just couldn't help the smile as it grew wider.
"Anna" Her mother stood up and walked over towards her.
"What's going on here?" She managed to ask her voice coming out soft.
"Um sweetie this here is um-"
No! Not yet! She doesn't need to know who exactly is in her living room as yet. It could ruin everything I've planned.
"Don't bother, we're leaving now" I stood up motioning to Nicolyde that we were leaving.
"Believe me, it's better this way" I said dismissing the topic and she nodded while I left.
I listened in on their conversation with my super hearing as I stood by their door.
"Mom....what was that about?" I heard Anastasia asked
She was still pestering her even after we left. Damn it! Well I should've known it wouldn't have ended there.
"Are you hungry, let's get you something to eat" she said changing the topic.
Good. Nice move there.
