A Day at the Mansion

Vlad's P.O.V

Asgon hasn't given me the break of the day ever since his son's disappearance.

"Why haven't I heard any word from you about my son's whereabouts as yet?"

"Don't worry I've sent the best of the best out there to search for him"

"Maybe I should just go and do it myself" Asgon said angrily as he raced pass me.

"Don't be too haste brother, you know very well that you have a duty to perform here with your people. You need to remain out of dangers way and let your men handle it. You have to remember that you are not only a father but a King as well" and he stopped.

"I don't care about the risks! I just want my son to be safe here with me in the mansion and out of danger. I don't want him out there with a blasted war going on in between our great nations!"

"I understand brother, but you have to have faith in the men that are out there searching for him" I walked up to him to try and convince him. If I were him I wouldn't listen to me, I didn't even have that much faith in our men either.

I can't believe that I have to be depending on those worthless pieces garbage.

He sighed and turned to look at me.

"So what have they reported so far" Asgon changed the subject.

I was reluctant at the sudden change of topic, I didn't expect that and I didn't have a pleasant answer to give to him that would calm his mind and put him at ease.

"They haven't found him, but they are yet to stumble upon him" He looked at me displeased and walked away.

I sighed heavily. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this up.

Where the hell could he be?!

I ran my fingers through my hair a couple of times while pacing to and fro.

I need some fresh air to be able to think clearly, a thought came to me.

I took a walk out into the garden. I looked at the pitiful roses that Christian has taken up as a hobby, but I had to admit, they were flowering beautifully. The gardeners have been taking very good care of them while their prince was away. I always told him to just let the gardeners handle all of the work but he never listens. A prince should never have to do such work, but being as stubborn as ever he still refuses to let them do all the work.

I hated taking orders from my younger brother, it sickened me that Father chose him over me.... and I was the eldest of all my brothers. I understand Zander's and Caleb's reasons for not contradicting him for his decision. Mostly because they didn't want anything to do with the thorn .

But to choose Asgon over me. That made me furious!

I was lost in thought when one of the men that I sent out to spy on anything that the enemy may want to throw at us walked up to me.

"Sir!" He spoke, alerting me of his presence.

"What is it?!" I almost yelled. I wasn't in any mood right now. With a war going on, Christian's disappearance, and an unstable, enraged king to deal with, my mood was highly understandable.
