Christian's P.O.V.

Its been days since I ran into Xavier. He hasn't made any attempts since our little 'conversation'.  It has also been a while since I've talked to Anastasia. It's not like I'm avoiding her, it's just that I've been busy so it resulted in me being absent a couple of times.

During my absence, Nicolyde have been watching out for her and reporting back to me. I can't risk anything at the time being.

I walked slowly through the halls listening for the slightest sound that would be hers. Today was the first day of my return and I made it my first priority to see how she's doing.

I used my super sense of smell to see if I could get a whiff of her scent.

Nothing.

I knew for a fact that she was at school because I went by her house earlier to speak with her mother about some pending issues.

I could've easily called out to Nicolyde but I didn't want to risk being heard by the others that might be in the school as well. Ever since I saw Xavier I've been trying my best to be careful just in case there were others.

I continued walking through the hall until I heard Nicolyde's voice. Maybe she's somewhere nearby if he's there.

I walked into the class, Nicolyde was at the front mouthing off about something.

I stood at the front and searched for her until I saw her. She was seated at the back looking through the window at something.

I heard someone clear their throat and I turned to see Nicolyde and I shot him a 'what is it' look.

"Would you care to take a seat?" He instructed rather than ask.

'What the hell?' I thought.

He shot me a disapproving look for being too slow to have realize it in the first place.

I was still confused by this.

"What?" I asked whispering softly for only the both of us to hear.

"I'm doing my job" he whispered back.

"Take a seat"he instructed authoritatively.

I glared at him with all my anger pouring out in that stare. He knew very well never to order me around. He knew very well who I was. He might be my mentor or somewhat more of a father figure to me but he knew there were limits. Especially if he gets me pissed off and I was close to being so because of Anastasia's mother. I was in no mood for any of this right now.

He understood my small message but kept his composure.

I smirked. He went through tougher situations so this was petty compared to that little message.

The class seemed to have just started.

"Hello class, I'm Mr. Thomas, for those of you who didn't know, and I'm your substitute teacher for this class from now on because your teacher is still out sick and won't be back until further notice."

I laughed at Nicolyde's poor excuse for an introduction. I'm pretty sure that whatever happened to the teacher was because of him. I laughed even harder at the thought. Is Thomas really the best he could come up with? I shook my head in disbelief.

I didn't know he opt to be the substitute teacher of the class.

That surprised me a bit. He worked faster than I thought. For that, I'm thankful, because of that I'll let him off the hook. No use wasting my energy on nonsense when Xavier can attack at any moment. But I highly doubt he would attack during school hours because of the crowd.
