Hospital life

Logan's POV

I enter Rory's room and Lorelai starts telling me all of her injuries but I don't really hear her all I can think is there is my beautiful wife laying in this big hospital bed with a cast like I had after Costa Rica. I pull the chair as close as possible to the bed and I hold her hand and kiss it thanking god every second she and our son are still alive.

I sit silently watching her gentle breathing until the boys make it to the room. I take a step outside for fear of waking her.

"What's the damage to mother?" Robert asks

"She has a broken leg, some contusions I can't remember much more Lorelai told me but once I saw her, it kinda broke my heart." I said with tears starting to form. Finn pulls me in for a hug that he knows I need.

"What about the baby?" Colin asks in apprehension "fine still ok." I say in a relieved tone and I hear a collective breath out that tells me they were all worried for my unborn son.

"Can we see our love?" Finn asks and I nod "I'm going to find a doctor I want to know exactly what happened and how she is going to recover." I say and walk towards the nurses station while the guys watch Ace.

I get to the nurses station "can I help you sir?" One ask me "I'm looking to speak with one of Lorelai huntzbergers doctors please." I say politely " Can I ask your relationship to the patient?" She ask back following hospital protocol but I don't give a damn "I am her husband" I tell her in a tone that says don't mess with me right now. "Sorry Mr Huntzberger I didn't realise." She said and walked over to a doctor filling in paperwork behind her and spoke quite softly to him and he turned around and came towards me.

"Mr Huntzberger glad you made it I'm Dr Michaels I and the head resident on your wife's case. I don't know how much you mother-in-law filled you in but your wife has suffered from a broken leg, a few broken ribs, some minor contusions and a decent concussion. When she first came in we checked the baby to see how he was going and he is fine so we then tended to you wife's needs firstly her pain management and then we did only the essential X-rays but the best to protect you child. She is currently sedated and should be like that for the next 4 hours or so until she wakes up. She is very lucky her driver was able to swerve enough to save her the brunt of the accident, drunk driver running a red light happens oh too often." He says

"How is Frank?" I ask thinking about how great a driver he has always been for us.

"He is ok a only a mild concussion and a few contusions the car hit the back half of the limo that's why Mrs Huntzberger had more of the injuries." He tells me. "What room is he in I would like to see him" I say

"I think he is in room 12 it's just back towards the entrance and left." He tells me as I start to move towards his room there is so much I have to say and ask him.

I walk in and I find frank sitting there awake.

"Mr Huntzberger I did everything I could to take care of Mrs Rory sir." He says so defensively as I enter his room.

"I don't blame you Frank and I heard you did more than could be imagined to keep my wife and unborn son safe." I say in a calm and gentle tone.

"How is your wife?" He asks with genuine concern

"She will make a full recovery and the baby is fine too Frank." I say putting him at ease and then tell him of the injuries she had sustained. "It could have been worse if not for your quick reactions, I will be forever indebted to you." I tell him as I leave his room to head back to my wife.

As I'm walking down the hall my phone rings and I see who it is surprised it took her this long to find out and call me.
