Surprising them

Logan's POV

As soon as I see our home I am in awe but I am very grateful to three amazing men. They never cease to surprise me and Ace.

The whole house is doused in fairy lights all along the hallway, the lounge, the kitchen even our bedroom and I know my best mates are responsible but I also smell food and it smells amazing.

"What's going on Logan did you do this?" She asks me and I just shake my head thinking I wish I had. "No Ace I can't take any credit for any of this" I tell her as we walk into our lounge and we look towards our dinning room and there is a candlelit dinner for two. Eye fillet steak with all the trimmings of mashed potatoes and fries and all sorts of vegetables and gravy along with sparkling cider to drink.

I lead my wife over to the table and pull her chair out for her and let her sit then I take my place opposite her. As we sit we serve ourselves from all the sides and I pour out two glasses of cider. I see Ace dig in realising she is hungry and having to keep up her regular eating.

"I'm hiring a maid tomorrow to help look after you and the apartment and cook for you and make sure your fed while I'm at work." I tell her as we eat our fine meal and thinking I really need to thank those crazy friends of mine.

"Logan! No I want to still be independent" she whines at me "You will still be independent but they will make sure you eat regularly." I reply not budging and inch on this and she can tell "Alright" she says with a sulk and continues eating.

Once we finish eating I clear the dishes as Ace goes and changes into some comfortable clothes. I set up the blu ray player with The wizard of oz and get some snacks and drinks ready on the coffee table. Ace returns to her spot and snuggles in under her blanket and into my arms.

2 hours later Ace is fast asleep I lift her up and carry her to the bedroom and then place her into bed I get changed myself and then join her in bed and have a peaceful night sleep.

We wake up around 10 am the next day and I make breakfast as Ace sits at the bench enjoying her daily coffee. "What's the plans for today?" She asks as she devoures her elixir of life. "I have some interviews for the maid other than that I'm all yours" I tell her "well I wanted to talk to you about the offers and see what you think." She says to me. "Can we leave that till after I have the maid interviews between 1 and 3 " I say to her "that's fine" she replies and we finish eating our breakfast and I clean up while Ace makes herself comfortable on the couch like usual.

The interviews come and go and I decide on a lady call Tina she seems like a good fit with Ace. After I advise the agency and they organise the start date I make my way to join Ace on the couch. "So about these offers?" I say as I sit down.

"Well I spoke with Jess and he is coming up with the same choice I am leaning towards" she tells me and my smile drops she is going to go with Harper is all that is going through my head.

"We both agreed that it should be HPG because everything is so much better suited for me once we have Finn" she tells me and I just about drop my glass "wait you are publishing with us?" I ask her "Yes, is that a problem?" She responds with a chuckle. "Of course not we would love to have you." I say in an instant as I crawl over and hug her. She hugs me back and I pull her into my arms and we snuggle up and continue to watch whatever mindless dribble Ace is enjoying on the TV.

2 hours later Ace has fallen asleep in my arms and I decide it's time for me to order in dinner as I cannot be bother so I decide on Thai and I call our favourite take out and order some curries some coconut rice and also pad thai because I know how much Ace loves her choices. After I order the food there is a knock at the door I make my way over and answer and it's the boys.

I gesture for the mm to be quite and we make our way to the home office. "Ace is asleep I don't want to wake her as she needs all the rest she can get" I tell them "but I also want to thank you for last night guys it was amazing to come home to that Ace loved it" I add as they look at me with big smiles on their faces.

"No trouble mate" Colin says

"Anything for our love and you of course" Finn adds

"You know you and mother are family to us we just wanted to do something for you guys after all it was a bit of a scare you deserved something special" Robert finishes.

"Well you guys timed it well I just ordered Thai I will call and add to the order see if the girls would like to join us too Ace would love to see them" I say as I call up and increase the order to cover the other 6 people now joining for dinner.

"Logan where are you?" We hear coming from the lounge and we make our way back out from the office to my lovely wife.

"I'm here Ace and we have some visitors" I say as we walk out.

"Evening darling" Finn says

"Hey Rory miss us?" Colin adds

"Mother please do not scare us like yesterday again" Robert finishes

"Of course I missed you guys but where are my lovely lady friends I miss them too" she replies

"They are on there way Ace" I reply saving her from the three stooges response.

The food arrives about 30 minutes later the boys help me bring it in and set it up on the dining room table there is a knock on the door and I answer while the guys get bowls and cutlery out as I welcome Steph, Rosemary and Paris in.

Everyone says hello and then helps themselves to Thai I make a bowl for Ace so she can stay in her spot. We all eat and enjoy general conversation once dinner is done everyone relaxes more.

"So ace decided who is going to publish her book" I say

"Who?" They all ask

"Well surprisingly it is actually going to be HPG they have the best offer didn't really help that the future CEO was in the meeting too" she tells them and they all look at me dumbfounded

"Dad wanted me to get to know the book publishing side and said I had to join that meeting I don't know if he knew it was ace but it was funny how she played coy with the publishing assistant that she did not know me" I say with a smirk

"You acted like you didn't know your husband?" Colin asks

"I said I wanted to do it without the help of the name I got all my answers before I revealed that I was a huntzberger. She actually could not believe she didn't put two and two together but was actually really good about it." She says

We then move the topic of conversation from us to Colin and Steph and all the engagement and wedding plans. The girls talk for hours and they guys sit listening. Before we all know it it's time for everyone to head home.

We call it a night and go straight to sleep as well as I have work tomorrow and the maid will be here by 7 to start her work.
