The call

Logan's POV

It was 430 pm and I am getting ready to leave the office to head home when my phone rings"

"Huntzberger here" I answer

"Is this Mr Logan Huntzberger?" The caller asks

"Yes it is, why are you asking?" I say still a bit confused as to why someone is calling my cell and asking if it's me.

"Mr huntzberger its nurse Jeanine at Hartford Memorial hospital your wife has been brought into emergency how long can you take to be here?" She asked me

Panic strikes "What has happend to Rory?" I ask in shock "she was in an accident that's all I know we need you here asap though." She answers me

"I will be there within the hour" I say and hang up I call Finn straight away.

"Finn is your chopper still here?" I ask him before he can say a word.

"Yeah of course but where is yours?" He asks

"It's in LA dad needed it the other day. I need to borrow yours though, Ace was in an accident on her way back from Stars Hollow and is at Hartford Memorial." I tell him

"Oh shit I will let the boys know it's yours and I will meet you on top of our building and go with you." He says "ok tell the pilot to be ready in 20 mins" I reply and hang up the phone and walk out of the office.

"Hold all calls nothing comes through to me any decisions need to be made contact Mitchum he will make them I am going to Hartford and don't want to be disturbed until I contact you ok" I ramble at my secretary and I walk at a brisk pace towards the elevator. As I reach them I call dad.

"Logan to what pleasure do I owe this phone call." He asks

"No pleasure Rory was in an accident and in Hartford Memorial. I told my secretary that any decisions need to be made through you till I contact the office." I tell him "done Logan you go see your wife and hopefully your child will still be right."

I reach the car and get in telling the driver where to go and make the call I'm dreading. 

"Dragonfly inn Lorelai speaking" the cheery voice says on the other end.

"Lorelai, its Logan bad news Rory has been in an accident on her way home she is at Hartford Memorial can you get there soon please I'm still 40 mins away and I need you to authorise whatever is needed to keep her and my son alive." I blurt out "Rory was in an accident?" She asks/says in shock. "Yes I will call Luke to pick you up." I say and finish the call and then call the diner.

"Luke's" he answers "it's Logan you need to get Lorelai and take her to Hartford Memorial, Rory was in an accident." I say quickly and before I know it I hear the hang up tone and I know my job is done there.

It takes the driver 15 minutes to get to Finn's building. I get out and head straight to the top floor then up the stairs to the roof. When I open the door I see my three best friends waiting for me with grim looks on their faces.

"What are you all doing her?" I ask as I walk over to the chopper.

"Going with you" Colin says while Robert and Finn nod in agreement.

"Ok then let's get this show on the road I need to get to my wife." I say and we all get in and before we know it we are flying across the New York skyline headed to Hartford.

Lorelai' POV

I just get of the phone and I'm in shock my baby is in the hospital after an accident. I grab my bag and I quickly find Michel " Your in charge I have to get to the hospital Rory was in an accident." I tell him and keep moving till I get outside. I see Luke about to get out of his truck instead I run and hop in and he drives off like a madman and in 15 minutes we are at the hospital. I run into emergency "where is Rory huntzberger?" I ask

"We don't have a Rory huntzberger here" she says

"Well how about Lorelai Leigh huntzberger is that more accurate to you records?" I say like a crazy person.

"Yes she is here, room 24 if you go left to the end and turn right you will find her room and the doctors can help you." She says and I rush off in the direction she pointed me.

As I reached the room there is a team of doctors standing outside discussing the next course of action.

"Are you Lorelai's doctors?" I ask

"Yes we are, are you family?" One answers

"Yes I am her mother, her husband is on route and told me what I need to do." I tell them.

"Lorelai has suffered from a broken leg, a few broken ribs, a concussion and a number of contusions, the baby is ok. She will not need surgery so that is a good thing." He told me as I breathed a sigh of relief that my grandson was going to be ok along with my daughter.

"Can I see her?" I ask

"Sure she is asleep right now." He tells me as I walk straight passed them and into the room where my only child lays asleep and I try not to cry, feeling so helpless like when Dad was in hospital.

I stand there for what seems like hours but is only minutes and I feel a set of arms come round comforting me. I lean back and take comfort in these arms that would do anything for me and for Rory.

"How is she?" Luke asks

"Broken leg, a few broken ribs a concussion and some contusions, very lucky as far as the doctors are concerned. No internal damaged no need for surgery." I tell him kind of robotically.

"Coffee?" He asks

"Please" I respond and he heads off on a coffee hunt while I take a seat next to her bed. Ten minutes later I hear running down the hall and I know exactly who it is.

He runs to the free side of the bed and grabs her hand "oh ace." He says with a tear in his eye.

"She is going to be fine Logan and so is your son." I say seeing him breath a sigh of relief in the fact that his family is still alive and safe.

"What injuries does she have?" He asks me

"Broken leg, a few broken ribs, concussion and some contusions is what the doctors told me." I tell him

"Now your here I'm going to go find Luke see if he found me my coffee." I say as I leave the room knowing he did not hear a word as all that is in his mind is Rory and I am very grateful she found someone that loves her that much.
