Chapter 11

"Hey, snap out of it!." Calvin shouts.
I open my eyes to see me pinning Calvin to the wall and almost choking him. I let go, my hands are trembling.
"I'm sorry. I've lost control."

'It is okay."

We sit in the lounge and drink our tea. 
"We should go to sleep, it is getting late."

He stands up and ruffles my hair. He starts to make his way to his room.
"Wait, I want to know the whole truth," I demand.
"Maybe, tomorrow, a lot had happened."
"I told you, I want to know more. Brother." 

"Tomorrow, I promise." he says as he smiles.
I nod and walk back to my room. I keep thinking about the truth. My memories being altered, my dad accidentally murdered my mother. My uncle killed dad, his own brother. The truth that was hidden away from me came to light. It is kind of sad. I open the door to my room and flop on my bed. I curl up in a ball and fall asleep. 

"Daniel wake up!"
I open my eyes to see Calvin, the room is dark. I try to get up. I couldn't.
"Why can't I get up?" I ask.
The room gets smaller and Calvin starts to disappear.
"What is going on? Calvin!?"
Now, I'm in some sort of lab. In the lab, there is weird machinery and chemicals in flask burbling. My uncle and a woman. She has brown hair and blue eyes.
"Mother?" I try to call out

No one can hear me, all I can do is observe.
"Darrel, are you sure this is the best?

"Of course, let's start."

I see my mother in some sort of glass chamber. There is a sound of steam being released, the chamber starts to be filled with a blue chemical. There are screens with information on them.
The chemical starts to glow a sliver colour, soon my mother starts to grow wings, sliver wings of mighty angels. The chemical drains away and my mother's wings start to disappear. My mother steps out of the chamber. She looks pale and tired, her breathing is uneven and her eyes are gloomy. I hear a loud bang from the other side of the lab.

"DARREL LET ME IN!" someone shouts.
A man charged into the lab. He broke down the iron door and held a knife in his hand.
"Dad, don't do it!" I try to yell, but nothing came out.
"Leave my wife alone!"
He charges towards my uncle, my mother stands in front of him. 
"Move please, I need to..."
"No, killing your own brother isn't justified and I agreed to his experiment."
"Why, would you?" he asks
Tears streaming down his eyes.
He tries to walk past her, but she blocks his way. 
"Let me through."
She shakes her head. 
"Let him pass, my dear."
She nods obediently and let my dad pass. I can see tears streaming down her face. Then I see my uncle stab my dad with his knife. The dad's knife flies through the air. My mother caught it and ran away. I'm in shock, in the corner of my eye I see Calvin. Calvin was a small boy and he is traumatised in fear. My dad didn't accidentally kill my mother, she ran away like a coward. I see my young self-enter the lab, he leads me into the chamber and used me as a test subject. I was his first success, but the side effects were my memories being erased. 

I wake up, I see myself in my room. The sun streaming through the windows. I jump out of bed and rush to Calvin. 
"Calvin!"

I see him sitting on the couch, drinking some tea. 
"Yes?"
"You said dad 'accidentally' killed mum."
"Yes..." he says unsurely.
"Mum ran away."
He nods, he doesn't look straight at me in the eye. 
" You didn't want my view of mom to be a coward. Am I right?"
He nods. I give him a forgiving look. 
"She died by our uncle. He threw her like trash." Calvin admitted.
I finally found the truth. Calvin looks so relief that he doesn't have to keep secrets again. I hear a buzzing sound, it gets louder and louder.
"The Infests are coming!"
We run outside to see a swarm of Infests coming. I pull my knife out and start to charge to battle. Calvin stopped me.
"We must run."
"I'm not going to die like like a coward!"
"We are out matched!"
I look at the swarm and look at Calvin. He was right, there is no way I can defeat a swarm. I nod at Calvin as we retreat. We fly away as we the swarm apporach closer. Ducking and weiving from incoming Infest that wants to attack us. They apporach closer and closer and the chase becomes faster and faster. My hear is beating and my vision is a blur but I keep trying to catch up to Calvin. I see the swarm just behind me before I know it. I am swolled by the swarm.

"Help!"
"DANIEL!"
He reach his hand and try to grab but I couldn't and I disappear and couldn't see him again. I feel the Infest turning around and I can hear the scream of my brother ever so fainly. I'm trap in a cage of Infest, and I can't do anything about. 
"I wish, I can be more useful and stronger." I whisper to myself.
