Never Told You

Shina was able to remove the rope and jumped off the clock tower. She cut her palm and landed on Ash. She let him drink her blood. Ash regenerated and had her aura become heavier. He was able to kill 10 of the subclasses. "Ash, why did you come?", Shina asked. "I thought you'll always be my Eve. I dont mind being with you", Ash sighed. "Of course, are you proposing to me?", Shina laughed. Ash removed his jacket and gave it to Shina. "It's cold", Ash said. Akio laughed and signalled someone. A spear hit Shina's stomach. Ash caught her before falling on the ground. "Shina", Ash called. He bit his hand to let his blood drop on Shina's wound. The blood evaporates. Akio laughed. "I did a lot of research and Lawless helped me with information. I had that spear soaked in holy water. Sorry but it's either you die or she does", Akio laughed.

Shina cupped Ash's face. "Ash... look at me. Ash", Shina smiled. Blood is flowing down her stomach. "Ash, listen... I have the cat on the veterenarian clinic. My Mom... she's really a nice woman. Please accompany her home. Sorry for all these demands. I'm your Eve after all. Then...", Shina coughed. "Stop talking already", Ash clenched his fist. "It's the last day of the year. Let me wake a wish for you... I hope this would be enough as a gift. I hope you find... find... a better Eve than me. Someone who could teach you more of humanity. Thank... you... Ash", Shina smiled. "Idiot... today is my birthday", Ash sighed.

"See... see... Lawless I did what you wanted to see. You want Sloth to be miserable... right?!!", Akio laughed. Chains enveloped him and squeezed him to death. "I didnt think he will go this far", Lawless went close to Shina and Ash. "Go, I will fix things from here", Lawless said. "Oy. Wake up. Idiot. I still have things to tell you..", Ash shook her. Subclasses are surrounding them because of the scent of blood.

Lawless took Shina using his chains. "Give her back", Ash stood up. "You have things you have to do", Lawless pointed Touru who lost conciousness. "What a pain. I want to die..", Ash walked lazily away from them.

Present...

"I'm sorry for your lost", Mahiru said. "You must have loved your former Eve", Mahiru added and passed a soda. "She owes me a birthday greeting and I owe him a thank you", Kuro sighed and drank the soda.

"I need to tell you something... Brother", Hyde went out. "No need Hyde. You never done anything", Kuro patted his head. "Just wait for me to tell you...", Hyde stopped when he saw Kuro smiled. "Mahiru, let's watch the fireworks", Kuro requested.

Back to School for a Christmas Celebration... December 31

Mahiru carried Kuro as they walked at the corridor. Girls are drawn towards the cat.

"Ah.. she's really beautiful as usual", Ryusei and Koyuki appreciated a photo on Ryusei's phone. "Who was that?", Mahiru asked. "It's the senpai. It'll be her last year here, though", Ryusei pouted.

Mahiru Shirota's POV

A lady with black hair and amber eyes passed by . She was really beautiful. No way... she's wearing a ring already. Kuro was just lazying around and sleeping. "What are you guys doing here?", she asked us and turned her back. She's got dazzling eyes and fair skin.

Her smiles are also bright. "Senpai. How come you are so pretty?", the girls in my class asked. "Pretty people went through many things", Senpai answered. "Listen... it's not about your outward appearance that makes you pretty. It is how beautiful your life will be even in the face of everything", she pointed at me. "Right, kohai?", she asked. I nodded and melted in her sweet voice. "Have you ever been in a relationship? You never had a boyfriend", the girls continued asking. "Why dont we look for some places to talk about that?", Senpai grabbed them with her. She's also nice and I can sense a strong woman inside of her.

They left.   

We prepared for our class party and ate together. Kuro said he'll just be sleeping at the side. Senpai peeked again and delivered some roasted potato for us. Kuro woke up and went up to me. His eyes were wide open. I wonder if it was because of the potatoes or the woman in front of us.

Senpai also stared at the cat. "Ash?", Senpai got him from my shoulders. No way. How did she know he's former name is Ash. "Kohai, he looks like my cat but it's impossible that he's this cat. Ash... the ash I found was 2 years ago. Who is this cute cat?", Senpai asked. "His name is... Ku..", I nearly made him in his human form. Senpai got a potato and fed it to Kuro. Bet he's enjoying it. "Happy Birthday, Ash", Senpai smiled. I saw Kuro's eyes widened. If I recall...

She owes me a happy birthday....

"Silly me... why am I greeting a cat", Senpai laughed and returned Kuro to me. "He's really cute", Senpai appreciated.

She ran outside...

Kuro ran after her and I did follow them. They ended at the rooftop.

"Huh? Why am I crying?", Senpai wiped her tears. Kuro turned to his human form. This is bad... he might be very thirtsy of blood.

"Shina?", Kuro called to her. Senpai turned to face her. "Thank you", Kuro bowed.

Flashback...

Lawless was very guilty of what he did. He took Shina to Johannes and let him treat her.

Shina fortunately survived but she lost her memories about Ash in his human form or anything about vampires.

Shina was taken care by her mother whose memories are also altered. And so... her life continued.

Present...

"Who are you?", Shina tilted her head. Kuro smiled and left.

Mahiru ran after him. "Is that all?", Mahiru asked.

"Mahiru, let's go back to bastard-chan's house. Lawless deserve a good punch from me", Kuro said. Kuro's voice was sad enough for Mahiru to cry. "Why are you crying?", Kuro asked. "Because you wont", Mahiru sniffed. "Did she totally forgotten about you?", Mahiru asked. Kuro went close to Mahiru and hugged his head.

"We both have our worlds right now. Let's go Mahiru", Kuro slightly smiled.

We said our happy birthdays and thanks .

Knowing she's fine and nothing bothers her anymore.... is enough for me.

I might not know him but his gratitude made me feel satisfied. Somehow, deep inside me... I knew he has someone great beside him.

I'm glad... we met again.
