3 years later

I wake up to the sound of smashing in my room.

"Shit"

The words escape my mouth before I can even think.

I look over to the other side of my room to find Casey standing in broken glass

I struggle out of bed before running over to the broken glass scattered on the floor.

"Ughhh" I moan picking Casey up and placing her by the door.

I pick up the broken glass scattered on my floor, the only thing I havent packed for university. It's a framed picture of Harry, holy crap.

I throw the broken glass in the bin and shove the picture in a drawer.

I grab my jumper pulling it over my head so I'm not cold before running down two flights of stairs to make it to the kitchen.

I see my mother sat at the table reading a magazine about fashion which she never takes into account and drinking a coffee.

"Sarah, you are leaving for university in what, 2 hours!" she snaps staring at her watch. "you look like a mess and I bet you arent finished packing, I want to leave early so you are there before the starting speech thing" she says standing up and putting her mug in the sink.

"actually Mother I have packed thankyou for worrying and we have plenty of time, bloddy hell" I bite back not reolising I just swore at her.

she closes her magazine and stands up from the table to reveale the most hidious skirt.

she walks streight past me with no eye contact.

...

I have 2 hours to kill so I need to find something to do.

I open the loft to reveal ladders falling down on top of me. I had never cared to enter the loft but now I have time to kill it seems practical.

I climb up and turn the light on.

I walk, every step I take the floor creaks.

The light flickers on revealing hardly anything, I expected there to be so much up here.

I see a box, it's so familiar but I just can't put my finger on it.

I walk over and pick up the box before exiting the Loft, turning the light off and taking the box with me.

When I get to the bottom of the stairs I don't push them up straight away, I'm too intrigued by what is in this box.

I flip the lid off to reveal a book and a few photos. Harry.

I look through them all and the book, taking in what I have forgotten.

...

"bye bye baby" I say picking up Casey and cuddling her.

My mum puts the last bag in the car before closing the boot of the car and walking to the door.

"come on" she says as I put Casey down and exit the house.

The university I am going is only 1 hour from home, depending on how fast you drive. Luckily mum drive fast so I could arrive at uni and be out of her grasp.

My phone that is on my lap starts to buzz and and I look down to see my dad calling. My hands start to shake as I answer my phone.

"hello" I say

"hi honey, I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye. The train was delayed and I wish I could have come to see you" he says.

"It's fine Daddy" I say before getting out of the car. "I have to go because I'm there but see you soon?" I ask.

"yes okay goodbye" he says before hanging up.

I walk to a small building near the car park before getting my boxes to get my room key. When I enter it is full of beautiful looking girls and I instantly feel odd.

"hello" a woman from behind the desk shouts indicating for me to walk over.

"Hi um I'm Sara Rose" I say handling in my slip.

She says no more before handing me my door keys and leaving me to walk away.

I turn on my heels twirling the key chain around my finger before heading to the car to meet my mum.

When all of my stuff is in my room she gives me a hug leaving me and walking down the hall.

Just as I go to close the door the one opposite swings open. A handsome brunette boy stands there messing with his hair, he stops the door with his foot before getting his keys and closing the door behind him.

"Hi" I say before I can stop myself, me and my big mouth.

"hey" he says walking over to me.

"I'm Sarah" I say putting my hand out to be shook.

"I'm Bennett" he says, letting his British accent go.

We shake hands before I grab keys and close my door to.

"You going to the starter assembly?" he says smiling.

I nod and close my door.

...

The assembly lasted longer than expect, it was just rambling and shit and to be honest I should have taken a rain check and gone to explore the village which is my home for the next three years.

I start walking back to my room by myself, fabulous.

I look and feel like someone who has no friends or anyone who has any involvement in my life.

I smash my body to the bed before I start looking through photos and sticking them on my wall, along with posters.

I hear and knock at the door. Honestly I would prefer it if everyone would just leave me to in pack.

I open the door to see a friendly face staring at me from the other side.

She had a thin figure and was wearing a summer dress and holding a One Direction notebook. Oh my goodness.

"I have just come to drop of your timetable Sara Rose?" she says holding a slip of paper in my face.

I nod and take it from her hands. "Thankyou"

Again my gob can't remain shut and words shoot out of my mouth. "So you like One Direction?"

She gives me a strange look before looking at her notebook and back at me.

Harry looks so grown up and seeing his face everyone makes me feel like part of me is missing, like I have missed a part of his life. We were best friends for 10 years and then nothing. We didn't even talk. I would do anything to hear his raspy dark voice again, how it was full of light at the same time. He is now touring the world and I have no part in his life, I probably never will. I fucked things up big time but have to face that.

"Yeh I guess, I saw them last May and I guess ever since my friend dragged me to the concert I haven't stopped loving them" she laughs. I laugh along being sociable.

"What about you" she questions. I have never, ever been asked about One Direction, I always avoid the topic and didn't have many friends to discuss it with.

I shrug my shoulders and look around, making the atmosphere awkward.

"We all do deep down, see you around" she smiles and walks away.
