"Mum!" a little girl screamed as she raced to the door. She swung open the door to see a tall woman standing there, holding multiple shopping bags. "Hello, Clare baby," said the mother with a warm smile. Clare ran into her mother's arms, embracing her with a tight hug. "Mommy, did you get me anything?" asked Clare curiously, trying to look in the bags. The mother dug into her bag for quite a few minutes. She pretended to be not find anything at first, which made Clare frown. Clare fell for this trick every time. Clare's mother pulls out a Wonder Ball, which was a chocolate shell candy with little flavored candies in the middle. She giggles, thanks her mom, and runs off. The mother smiles for only a minute, then closes the door quickly. She then locks the door and looks through the peek hole, to make sure no one followed her. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.
Before dinner, someone arrived at Clare's home. Her father had just got home from work and Clare's mom, Winnie, met him at the door. Winnie approached her husband, kissing him softly. "How was work, hun?" asked Winnie. He told her usual, that it was boring work. Winnie looked stressed and he approached her with concern. "What is wrong? Did something happen today? he asked her, holding her close. Winnie locked the door quickly and then returned to her husband. "John, I think someone has been following me. I haven't felt safe in week and I am truly scared" she said before running into her husband's arms. John held Winnie close, sighing deeply. He didn't know what to do and who was doing this to his wife. He didn't know if she was just imagining things. But he loved her and would do anything to keep her safe.
