A child thrashes around in her sleep and sobs quietly. A middle-aged woman screams as she is thrown against the wall. With a loud thud, she slams against the wall. She groans in pain as she slides down the wall and into a slump. She watches the attacker mutter, realizing that he was speaking a different language. She screams in pain as she feels the fire touch her pale, bare skin. She looks down, watching her body slowly burn to a crisp. The last thing she sees is the man's black eyes, staring into hers.

"Clare?" says a little girls voice. I wake up, aggravated, until I see her face. "Bad dream?" I ask, already knowing the answer. She nods her head, and crawls into my bed and wraps her arms around my stomach. I sing a personal lullaby that I sang to her when she was a baby. It calms her down and fights the bad dream away. After a couple minutes, she is fast asleep, snoring quietly. But I sit there, wondering. Was this the person that killed my mother when Dani was a baby? This could be a sign. I wish she knew, but I must wait till she is older to tell her.
