The drive to the home would be quiet if it wasn't for kirky driving sounds horn  blowing and giggling that Kirkland seems amuse by they got there and pulled in to the parking lot she sign up and they went in together her mother was by the window as always she look up when they came up to her turning twice to look at Kirkland who smile gentle take her hand and stooped in front of her
Mrs cassidy " he said with a smile "bet you don't remember me,it's Kirkland she starch her head but as always no response " I see you trying to remember but don't worry you will " he said rubbing her hand before standing up.
"Mom Kerry said pulling up a chair to sit next to her " merry Christmas mom we brought lots of good thing s for you, Stacey couldn't make it but mom she sent her love "Kirkland saw the tear in her eyes telling her she shouldn't cry  that it can be discouraging she herself know that but seeing her mom so life less wasn't easy everything else works for her apart from her brain and she haven't said one word in over three years this wasn't like her Mom Kirkland take her place and help Mrs cassidy with her meal which she help herself with, with out struggle he sat and watch her eat all of everything he took the dish from her handing it to Kerry " mrs cassidy "he called taking her hands again " I bought you something pretty "he told her pulling out a nice blue scarf from his bag
And wrapped it around her neck Kerry brush her hair Kirkland show herself in a small mirror that was lend to him by one of the nurse three years since she haven't seen herself she took it from his hand and when he took her picture Kerry swear she saw a smile but silent tears came as she sat looking at herself.
Kirkland sat with his hands around her they were there until visiting hours was over and they got fifteen minutes more Kerry help her in bed after dressing her in her nightgown she was going to hang the scarf over her bed but she wanted to hang on to it she was almost asleep when they left and by Kirkland drop her off kirky was fast asleep on her lap on the back seat Kirkland help her by taking him off to bed, the phone was ringing but Kerry ignore it for Kirkland was still in the house
" all tucked in "he said pulling her close to him putting his arms around her " some weight that boy is carrying,he gave me a backache ouch! " he giggle resting her head on his chest she listen to his heart beat feeling it against her eardrum
Some day huh?"Kirkland said
"Yeah"
"And I haven't slept a wink,thanks to you" he slap her bottom with a squeeze and she push him away.
"I will see you " he turn and walk away no matter what is feelings were he couldn't walk away
"Kirkland " Kerry called as he was about to open the door
"Huh?"
She came to him at the door "I wanted to thank you for coming with me to see mom you being there  ment a lot"
"Kerry you should know I will walk the extra mile for you I love you so much"
She look up on him her lips   brush on his cheek for his head hang over her an inch taller than her at five foot five it was accidental but he pull her closer  their lips met and he kiss her sweetly his hand through her short curls his fingers against the skin of her hair send her back to that night she didn't want to repeat that night so she stop it before it happen he left with out looking back he was sitting in the car when he saw her at the door she wave and he blow his horn she watch till his car was no longer in sight then went inside she just close the door behind her when the phone start ringing again she ran to answer it
"What were you doing engaging baby daddy in passionate sex again " Stacey tease"
"Huh?" Kerry said
Stacey giggle "see how long I was calling you"
"Sorry I was talking to Kirkland for kirky had fallen asleep so he put him in bed for me".
" uh huh I see so how was mom?"she went on to ask after she was done playing with her sister Kerry fill her in leaving nothing on said Stacey hope he could come visit with them on new years day but Kerry wouldn't be the one to ask not that she didn't want him to come again they talk for hours Kerry was almost sleeping when Stacey said goodnight Kerry climb the stairs to check on kirky taking him to the bathroom so he could pee she was just in time for him not to wet the bed he was under the covers sound a sleep again before she head on to her own room she drop off the dress she wore earlier and with just pantie she flops herself in bed,the sound of the clock in the living room wake her but it was the ferm hands that cuff her breast cause her eyes to flew open to find Kirkland leaning over her with both hands on her she tries to shiff but he held her
"Relax   am not going to hurt you " he told her she was tremblings that even her teeth were knocking together grasping harshly when his mouth came to her left breast one hand on the other and the next gripped her where she could no longer shift ,"Kerry relax " he told her again when he was resting between her legs "I told you I won't hurt you
" what are you doing ?"she nervously ask
"I want to make love to you ,can't you let me do that umm ,you can't do that much for a friend?" Kerry eyes widened in question she never felt him this way in his sober self he was hard and each move ment of his hip get him closer
"Kirkland I can't do this "
Why not best friend's do anything and get away with it"
"Yeah ! But you're married its bad luck to sleep with a man that is already married"
He giggle when she was thinking he was going to stop he kiss her lips pushing his tongue in her mouth his finger in her underwear rubbing on her flesh she wasn't sexual active so she has a close hold on it he was removing his sweat pants when kirky came in the room
"Mom" he call and Kerry panic lifting her head to where it could for his body weight still press her down he was still on her when kirky came around to the side they lay his body hide her nakedness he smile at kirky when he came close
Kirky smile back
"Want to race ?" Kirkland ask the boy
Kerry was surprise to hear him say yes,
"You have to start running first on your mark ,get set,now go " he snap his fingers and kirky starts running Kerry thought one he was gone Kirkland would try something more but soon as kirky was out the door he jump up smile at her and went toward the door "get ready we're going to the beach, hurry"
"Oh man!" Kerry sigh inhaling deeply then harshly let it out she got up and as he told her she got ready for the beach it was boxing day though it wouldn't be celebrating till tomorrow it was a thing they always do together go to the beach new years eve they always watch the fire works from her house on his birthday they spend the day in the park ,
Kirkland was in the kitchen with kirky  by Kerry got down both sat around the table eating jelly sandwich and drinking grape juice the sight of them sitting there together make her bones grow weak she never heard kirky laugh so much Kirkland was getting jelly alover his face rubbing his nose against is and making a face before they saw her she hide take her cell phone call her sister crying out to her asking what she was going to do now that they were getting close ,
"Stacey what should I do ?"
"May be you should tell him instead of killing off your self ,you know Kirkland is your best friend and kirky is your child they are bound to get closer"
Kerry sob
"Dry your tears honey it will work out some how "
Kerry sigh nodding as if her sister could see she came to realize and said OK she knew she couldn't tell him no matter what she can't remember him mention any children of his own apart from telling her he was here alone he didn't even say for how long she wish he would leave today and don't come back,
"Ready?" Kirkland ask when she came in the kitchen he had clean their mest it looks as though they didn't make it
"Yeah " she answer
When kirky took his hand and they were walking by Kelly he stop to whisper
"Maybe later we can carry on "
"No ! Won't happen " she told him but he just smile .as always the beach was crowded but it has never bother them before they found a spot comfortable for them Kirkland drop out his clothes and took kirky to the water a number of people called to him but only some stop for conversation he bumb in to lisa Willis a friend of Marsha she was a bridesmaid at their wedding Kirkland didn't really talk much to her for he didn't really like her because of her attitude, he was going to walk by but she start talking
"Kirkland Melbourne am I seeing right ?" She ask embracing him something that came as a surprise they weren't that close "Marsha did not told me you were here,I talk to her even this morning "
Kirkland didn't need details or did he give a dam when they talk
"Hey there " she address kirky you're cute he looks like the younger you "
"He's not mine Lisa"Kirkland said
" Mom "kirky said when he say Kerry came running
Lisa didn't know Kerry has a child and why he look so much like Kirkland
" Kerry cassidy has a son ?" She ask herself loudly Kirkland look at her but hia focus went back to Kerry in her bikini swim suit looking like like something he can't explain,Lisa called to her as she came up to them
"Hi " Kerry said turning to Kirkland and kirky "ready to run?" She ask Kirkland puts keep kirky on his neck and they ran off leaving Lisa looking with her mouth open.
"You're not going to believe when u tell you who I ran in today" Lisa said to Marsha when she called her later than evening
"Tell me about it" Marsha said
I saw your handsome hubby today and Kerry cassidy  was with him ,did you know Kerry has a son a son that is the splitting image of your husband ?"
"Kerry don't have a man more so a son she did have a think for Kirkland but he claim they never slept together "
"He lied to you Marsha there's something he's not telling you"
Marsha wonder if Lisa was right She was getting frustrated thinking about it she paste the floor almost pulling out her hair for if anything like that happen she could loose her husband for he wants a child more than anything but how could he have gotten Kerry pregnant they left Jamaica only hours after his wedding and she wasn't pregnant then for no matter what Marsha knew Kirkland would give up his life just to stick to her and that baby she can't afford to let Kirkland leave her and he will never leave her not when she's still breathing.
Kerry and kirky drove to Stacey's house Sunday evening for she had called to invite them to have dinner when they got back dinner time was long past to the time her sister have dinner on a Sunday but she went so kirky could spend time with his cousins he has took his two cars his train and pop up book Kirkland gave him for Christmas it was the first time he took up the yellow car Kerry was surprise he even did but when he got to the house he gave it to his cousin
"Nice toys " Stacey said taking his train to look at it "did mommy got  toys for you?" Stacey ask
"Those came from Kirkland " Kerry whispered from behind her
Oh they're from daddy"Stacey said only for Kerry 's hearing Kerry push her and she giggle calling her eldest daughter to watch the baby she was in her play pen playing with a soft ball the only toy in her pen she pulled her sister in the kitchen they sat next to each other talking Stacey had to bring up Kirkland as if they didn't already talk a bout him today
"We were at the beach today and we ran in to Lisa"
"Willi?" Stacey ask "how my lord I bet she'd already tell Marsha "
"I can only image" Kerry said
"So you and Kirkland still Bestfriends?"
"He came as usual "
"Well its his house"
Kerry look at her.
"He was on top of me this morning fundling me kissing me his mouth on my breast"
Stacey sat with her mouth opened when Kerry speak
"He was begging me to have sex with him saying I should do it for a friend"
"You should " mark said coming in to the kitchen to hear her so who is this man who want you to have sex?" Stacey laugh "who said  its a man?" She ask
" man or woman I'm telling you you should do it even you need a little sex sometimes "
Stacey laugh so hard that she cried
"Here I was thinking you were a very nice man" Kerry said and Stacey laugh even harder.
It was true she really needed a little sex in her life that night with Kirkland was her first and last and haven't been touch until he did so today ,she came to realize she really want to but she couldn't with Kirkland she want him gone not to drag him off to bed she can live with out sex but she falls  into deep letting it happen with Kirkland got pregnant kept it a secret from him for she thought he would never comes back now he was here with out his wife and then they were spending more time than wanted now she sure he was knowtisting they has a little in command. Kerry was ready to leave she hug s her niece's kisses them goodnight "get your things honey mommy is ready"
Kirky got up taking his red toys and his pop up book
"Honey you're leaving your toy " Stacey said
"She should have it" he said Stacey came close to Kerry her eyes ask the question Kerry nod
"Kirkland has been here over a week each time I saw him he's in a different red t"
"Its worst than I thought " Stacey said I thought he just look like him"
Kerry took her son's hand walk to the door never to speak
"Hey in-law " mark said it's not some thing that kills you know"
Kerry look if any of the children was seeing before sticking her middle finger in the air sticking out her tongue. Mark smile blowing her a kiss she shook her head Stacey smile at him hugging him around the waist
"I love you "
"What did I do special "
"You came in my life"
He laugh " who said marrying a police  was such a bad thing"he smile pull her closer and kiss her .
