When They Became Lovers

Kerry had shake herself and get it together for any minute now her sister would be here Stacey was coming to pick her up to go see their mother  kirky was all dress for he only wanted Kirkland to and not her,she admire the way he was with him so gentle as if he did this at all times
When Stacey came Kerry and kirky to was in the living room waiting on Kirkland to come down they were standing there when he came
"Hey Kerry you about ready?" He ask pausing when he saw Stacey
"How my ,my Kirkland !" Stacey said hugging him when he was fully down "you look like an hunk "
"Thanks you look good"
"I'm supposed to " she smile on turning to look at mark "you remember Kirkland don't you not ?" Stacey ask
He didn't quite but they shake hands.
"It's good to see you" they said
"Are we ready mom?" Stacey older daughter ask
"We are ,aren't we ?" Stacey ask
"Hold a second " Kirkland told them getting his camera ready can I take a photo of you and your famil"he ask Stacey who was more than ready she her husband and three children gather together to get their picture taken
Mark in return took one of kirky Kerry and Kirkland he was looking at them from the camera and wonder if it was the camera that caused the little boy to look so much like the man in who's arms he was in but when he move it, it was the same thing he never remember meeting the boy's father before ,he took the picture hand the camera to Kirkland ,they were on their way to st George's when he ask
"That guy your nephew's dad?"
Stacey looked at in  surprise for her husband was hardly bothered by anyone else business and to be asking this now
"He doesn't know for she didn't tell him"
"What" mark said to his surprise he almost threw them off the road and make a suddent swing to prevent the car from landing in a nearby fence,Kirkland who was so close behind honk his horn, mark honk back "sorry man" he said Stacey look at the children but they didn't knowtist  turning back to look at mark "sorry" he said Stacey nod he didn't ask more but she continue to tell him
"He was getting married and the night before his wedding they have sex but he was drunk and didn't remember what happened so she didn't tell him only to find herself pregnant by then he was settled in newYork and wasn't sure  he was coming back it was her first time, and the last she haven't been with anyone since"
"That was obvious" mark said with a smile
they got there and Kirkland pulled up next to them
"You all alright ?" He ask getting out his car
"We are" mark answer
"What happen back there?"
"She had her hand up my pants" mark said Kirkland smile taking his phone from his pocket asking for excuse he step away to answer it kirky when with him Kerry tried calling him back but he went anyway
"Its OK " Kirkland said taking his hand "we'll come go ahead.
Stacey put the two children a head of her the baby in her hand hugging her sister leading her away,her feeling didn't hide Stacey could see how bad she felt." He's getting to know him maybe it will be goof for him" Stacey whispered, Kerry wish he would leave soon now that the holiday will be over today she turn to see if he was coming but he was still on his phone holding on to Kirkland as he swing on his arm they later joined them by her mother bed side kirky ran in calling out
"Grandma" he said touching her Kirkland stoop behind him so they were both in front Rose "Mrs cassidy" he said taking her hand in his Stacey for got how much he loved her,"how are you today Mrs cassidy? You're looking good Hella ask me to say hello to You I just got off the phone with her and I told her I was here to see you ,she send her love Rose was looking at him as if needing to say something but she just look on ,
"Hi Mrs cassidy" a nurse said coming to her bedside "your whole family Is  here today isn't that nice",
Rose look up when she was finish speaking 
Kirkland got up to ready his camera telling Rose he was going to take picture he did so taking a couple with them together, mark took one of just kirky and Kirkland together by the end of the picture taking Kirkland show them to Rose giving her the picture of then all together the one with just him and the boy was beside her on her bed  and she reach over to take it up looking at it then to Kirkland and kirky her head then turn and she look on Kerry then look at the picture again
"Kirkland got up from beside her because she still held on to that One he stick the other near her bed they left with him promising to come see her again She held On to his hand he smile at her leaning down to kiss her and she smile Stacey was surprise for its been years she cried mark put his arms around her to comfort her. Kirkland lead the way back he was driving by burger king when kirky  scream " burger! I want burger" he yelled and Kirkland pull over to get it for him. Kerry wait in the car while he and kirky went in for he didn't want to wait with her. Mark stop to ask if they were alright ,Kerry told him they were so he took the lead ,It didn't take Kirkland much time to catch up with him pulling a long side him in the drive way at their house.
"You were speeding back there" mark said getting out his car coming over to Kirkland as he got out his "you for got am a cop ? I should just give you a ticket"
"Sorry officer" Kirkland said holding up both hands I didn't knowtist I was"he was smiling Stacey think he was real cute and she saw a resemblance of her little nephew mark smile back
"We cool" he said and they shook hand and brace each other.
They sat in the living room over burgers and fries and a good conversation Stacey children fall a sleep after a while and Stacey with marks help put them to bed Kirkland was on his feet when they came back
He was saying goodnight but kirky hang on to him telling him not to go "please " he beg holding on to his hand and bending on his knees
"He have to leave honey he can't stay" Kerry said she reach out for him to take her hand he did but still he held on to Kirkland ,mark look at his wife ,
"Care for a drink man?"he ask "for its obvious you will be here a little longer.
" Kirkland smile "yeah why not " he took a seat on the sofa and kirky climd on his lap
"You seems to have sway with kids, you have like how many of your own?" Mark ask as he hand him the beer and sat down
"None yet"
Kerry and stacey look at each other
"Bet you have two or three in your plan ?
Kirkland laugh " I've always wanted two a girl and a boy  the boy first they would be at lease three to four years apart ,that boy I wanted Kerry beat me to it,funny for she didn't wanted any children stacey stretch and yarn before getting up
"Kirkland I hope I see you again soon " she lean  in and kiss him "and thanks for coming to visit mom i can tell that it made her feel better"
"Anytime Stace" he said with a smile She turn and left Kerry watch her walk away and could tell She was feeling guilty mark said goodnight as well when he got to the room he find his wife crying putting his arms around her she sob in his chest "I feel so guilty" she said I should push her to tell him I'm older I should have done the right thing"
"Its OK baby they'll work things out the guy there seems understanding ,you can't blame yourself OK" Stacey now through she knew she could do nothing else ,
Kirky finally fall asleep and Kirkland tale him to bed in a backroom down the hall which was once Kerry's the house has so many memories of childhood he was eleven when he first came here one September his first high school year Both himself and Kerry had ended their primary years a little early for they both were doing well working at high standard getting top girl and boy in their  primary level doing well in high school he move on to collage and Kerry did evening studies she wanted to do business him a top recognize photographer he master his studies and here he was ready to open his own studio ,
Kirkland lay kirky in bed and Kerry did the rest she lean over and kiss him
"Goodnight mom" he said
Kerry was still sitting on the bed next to kirky ,Kirkland sat besides her but his arms around her and kiss her neck,  "man I envy  you" Kirkland said Kerry turn to look at him  he was smiling
Kerry felt as if something cut her deep inside she felt awful she wish there was something she could do to make it Right wishing she could tell him and make things right she put her arms a round him and  starts crying
"I'm sorry she said"
"What for ?there's nothing for you to be sorry for"he told her getting up pulling her with him " walk me out"they got to the varanda Kirkland lean against the rail and take her in his arms "we got some goodtimes here your dad would take us fishing and because I love fish so much he always taught me to fish I was fifteen when I caught the first one on my own ,and your mom cooked it for me" Kerry looked up at him
"I Miss your dad Kerry for your dad was like a father to me i don't want to loose your mom for I do think she will come around.
" I hope "Kerry said for I miss her.
He pull her in  a tight embraces kissing her. Stacey came out to find them apologizing for she never knew they were there
" don't worry about it,I'm going now though stacey was still standing there he kiss her again saying goodnight to them both
"Call me" kerry told Kirkland
"I will "he answer getting in to his car
" drive careful" stacey told him ,he wave and drove off
"Oh,god ;" kerry said dropping herself onto the sofa looking at her sister tears begon to come tacey put her arms around her "hush" she said "i know how you feel" but Kerry knew her sister have no idea of how she felt,
Kerry went to bed after talking with stacey  she told her a bout the night she had with kirkland and of kirky calling him daddy.stacey remarks were ,"the boy did nothing wrong ,he is his father"
Kerry really thought what he told him make a difference. She never expect Kirkland to just show up how would that look now if she tell him when he was living to believe nothing happened ,she have a restless night  her morning even worst for her sister kept telling her it was best she told Kirkland the truth and  the truth is she can't tell him.
Kirkland came to pick up kerry and kirky just as they were ready to leave kerry wasn't expecting him for stacey was dropping her home kirky ran to him and he pick him up
"You came ?" Stacey ask
Kirkland explained that he had gone to meet jake and they had gone to check on something Kirkland and his mother once lived on the other side of this town they had to go all the way around and one day Kirkland took her through a track that only stray dog or other animal's  would find,  it was a little long but easier to the distance they live,when his mother didn't have to struggle to send him to school she bought a house on the uptown for Kirkland had already renting with Marsha
for he had given her the key to his house it had make masha hate her more and when he gave her the key to the gift shop it got worst when they were to get married she came to the Shop gallivanting and flashing her ring about Kerry later find out that she beg for the marriage,they got married in april on the eighteenth which was  Marsha's birthday she was walking on air then Kerry admit that she had her going for she was dreaming of the day she and Kirkland got married and start a life together it was true she didn't want children of her own but she would have chest children because he said he wanted he wasn't asking for much two children was all he wanted and he would able to afford it for since Kirkland start making money he have not stop.
"Jake Lambert?" Stacey ask I didn't know he was still on the island "she said when Kirkland nod its a while I haven't ran in to him he's doing good right?"
"Too good " Kirkland said with a smile
" you should come to see me next time"kerry told Stacey hugging her,"I love you"
"You two live half hour away what's the fuss?"Kirkland ask
" you knowtist? "Mark ask and they both smile
They got home nearly dark kirky fall right to sleep and again Kirkland Carry him off to bed he lay him in remove his things wrap his blanket over him and kiss his fore head .
" Daddy "kirky said
" I'm right here man"Kirkland said
"I love you daddy"
Kirkland smile "same here " he whispered ,I love you too" he rub the boy head till he was completely  a sleep he was leaving the room when Kerry came bumping into him,he caught her by the waist and kiss her,"I need you"he told her Kerry nod him the OK ,he make love to her and they spend the night in each other arm's.
