DYLAN WAS WALKING through the streets alone, again

DYLAN WAS WALKING through the streets alone, again. It was almost dark outside, but he decided it would be nice to take a little walk.
He just wanted some time to himself and get rid of all the busy thoughts that swarmed his head. These things were tiring him out and all he wanted was to close his eyes and sleep for the rest of his life, but for starters he decided that fresh air would do the trick.

It was a few minutes after he started his walk, when a tap on his shoulder interrupted his peaceful loneliness. An irritated look fell over his features and he automatically assumed that it was a fan, that stood behind him and was probably just waiting to get a photo with him. He couldn't hold back the sigh that left his parted lips at the possibility of yet another fan encounter. It wasn't that he did not like his fans, he did, in fact he adored all of them for supporting him so much. But right now he was nowhere near the right mood to meet any human being.

Nonetheless he plastered a small smile on his lips and feigned enthusiasm when he turned around. What ,or rather who, was standing behind him would have been the last thing he expected and Dylan could feel his heart beat sped up. "Kelly? What are you doing out here so late?"

Her eyes were glistening in the light provided by one of the few street lanterns and a shy smile was lingering on her full lips. Yet another time Dylan was mesmerized, by how truly beautiful he thought she was and he could feel his hands beginning to sweat in her company.

"I'm actually on my way back home. Adam couldn't drive me,so I was just going to take a cab, but then I saw you and I thought I'd say hello. Where are you heading to? " Kelly dipped her head slightly to the side and looked right into his eyes.

Her gaze made Dylan feel slightly uncomfortable. Despite being a well known actor, he was still pretty much socially awkward and he didn't do good in social encounters. If it was anyone else Dylan would have just wished her a good night and would go his own way, but something about her made him curious. And Dylan was just as curious as awkward.

" I was just walking around, nothing special. I could walk you home if you want?" He shrugged his shoulders, while stuffing his hands in his front pocket. Dylan wasn't the type of guy to talk to pretty women, but he was willing to try in order to get to know Kelly. When they first met each other, it was mostly Adam and him doing all the talking, being old school friends and all. But Dylan didn't cease to notice that on the few occasions when Kelly did say something to take part in their conversations, she always seemed to say the right thing. The whole thing would have been a lot more awkward if it wasn't for Kelly and her talent, to make everything better with her bubbly art.

"You don't have to do that,Dylan. We would be walking for like half an hour or more and I don't want to bother you. I'm sure I can just take a cab,but thank you."

"I was going to walk around anyways, so why don't you keep me some company? This way I can bring you home safe and I wouldn't have to be alone. C'mon. " Dylan nudged her with his elbow and gave her an encouraging smile. A voice in the back of his head told him that he was being too persistent and probably creeped her out, but all those thoughts flew out the window when Kelly gave him a firm nod.

Relief flooded through his systems and even tho he only went for a walk, because he wanted to be alone, he found the company of the small woman next to him much better.

"Well then let's go. " They took of together and engaged each other in small conversations, about nothing particular.

It was a peaceful time. The night was quiet around them and for a little while, they were living in their own world. A world without a protective boyfriend supervising their conversation, without the busy sound of the streets and just filled with their quiet words and joyous laughter. Neither of them seemed to want to leave their own heaven so soon, so they purposely took wrong turns and walked in a slow pace, to let their walk last for as long as possible.

It wasn't before the stars were shining bright, when they found themselves infront of Kelly's apartment house and were forcefully brought back to reality.

"Thanks for bringing me home, Dylan. I really hope we meet each other again, it was fun talking to you. " Her skinny arms wrapped around his neck and he savoured the feeling of her in his arms. It was a short hug and Dylan only had time to shout a 'goodbye' after her, before she was gone and with her the last remains of what he would like to call their own safe heaven.

He shook his head while putting his cold hands into his pockets. The actor looked down at his feet, a small smile visible on his face and the memories of their shared walk playing in his mind, "I like her. "

Then he walked back home.
