Way Too Fast, Way Too Furious

Chapter 2

When I showed up to the race, I quickly exited my car, and looked around. I saw Tej, he was back in town.I smiled at the sight of my surrogate uncle, and made my way over to him. 

   "Wow! Look at how big you've gotten since I last saw you, what three years ago?" He asked and I nodded I was thirteen the last time he had seen me. My how had that much time passed?

   "Well Mr. Miami, I missed you how's it been treating you down there?" Tej moved to Miami where he originally lived. He had told my parents he'd visit soon, that was like two and half years ago, and it hadn't once come to visit. 

   "Pretty well... Roman's here too. He's off somewhere hitting on girls." Sounds like Roman, always trying to get the ladies. I looked around and spotted his blue eyes just as he spotted my dark brown ones, I waved him over to where me and Tej were standing.

   "Tej, I want you to meet Cameron Spieldner." I introduce the two of them, and Cameron seemed slightly nervous.

   "Cameron meet Tej Parker. I told you about him last night." They shook hands talked for a bit until Roman showed up whispered something in Tej's ear, which he whispered in my ear.

   "Listen your little boy toy needs to find a way out of here, there's trouble at the main entrance. We might need your help." I nodded and told Cameron to go sit in my car and that I'd be there in a little bit. I followed Tej and Roman, when we made it to the main entrance there was about five guys standing there. All of them were really big guys. Tej tried talking to them but they never talked back, Roman was the idiot and went at one of the guys which made them charge at Tej and I.

     One guy came at me and I throat punched him, another dude came at me. I jumped up and kicked him in the face and then punched him the throat. The others went for Roman and Tej. Tej beat his guys down but Roman was having a little bit of trouble, I went and grabbed the biggest guy Roman had on him and body slammed him.

     The dude looked stunned at how such a small girl could bring him down. I backed away from him and he jumped up, I looked around for a weapon but couldn't find one. He ran at me but before I could dodge it a man came out of nowhere, not just any man, Cameron. He grabbed the guy by his neck and slammed him to the ground.

   "Dude! How'd you do that?" I heard Roman ask, Cameron looks at Roman and then back at the guy. His eyes were closed as if Cameron had killed him.

   "My uncle was in the military and taught me some stuff. I guess he wanted me in the military too." Cameron said looking at Tej and Roman. I looked at them too, Tej had a few bruises and Roman and many cuts. These two are just looking for trouble.

   "Dang! I wish I had these skills! Dom and Brian nev-" Roman was cut off by Tej, I knew why he was about to tell Cameron that our family was crime fighting superheroes. Roman nodded at Tej and quit talking. I looked at Cameron and he had a confused look on his face, I wanted to tell him, I really did but dad would never allow me to. 

   "I guess we should get back to the race." I said trying to get back to why I was really here. Tej and Roman nodded and headed that way, I went to walk after them when Cameron grabbed my arm keeping me back.

   "What just happened?" He asked, I looked around hoping no one would hear me and told him.

   "Listen you can't tell anybody what I'm about to tell you, my family we're a little odd.' I looked at him and he nodded telling me to keep going, "They travel the world and fight bad guys with really nice cars." he looked at me like I was crazy. He looked like he was about to laugh when he said.

   "I want in. I don't want you getting hurt while doing this stuff so I want in." I chuckled. He raised his eyebrows, I looked at him like he was crazy.

   "I'm not kidding Ariana. I like you and don't want you to get hurt. Please let me in on it?" I nodded my head saying he could.

   "One condition, you still owe me dinner so tonight we go and my parents don't find out." he raised his eyebrows. I had to explain to him that my parents would kill me if I told them I let him join the family business.

   "We're a family of professional racers, we let you join our family you have to show us your racing skills." I looked him in his blue eyes. I nodded and he nodded back, we linked our hands together and walked back to the race. When we made it back everyone was ready, two of the cars had no drivers. One of them being me and the other I had no clue, Cameron let go of my hand and jumped into the other car.

     He wanted to race me... Sure he'd lose but I think he's showing me up. I laughed as I climbed into my car, I turned the keys and the car moaned to life. I looked at the people next to me, a woman probably a year or two older than me, a man in his late twenties. And Cameron, who was looking at his racing companions. Tej, who was signaling, looked calm and ready. I took in a deep breath and exhaled, telling myself I was going to win.

   "Ready! Go!" Tej said and I hit the gas, I was ahead of everyone when I saw him. Cameron's car was on my tail, I hit the Nos hoping it would keep me ahead and it did. I saw the finish line just a few feet in front of me, I hit the gas once again and without changing gears my car hit a bump in the road and flew in the air. I was strapped in so it wasn't that big of deal, but what was a big deal is that I just fixed my car. I landed on my tires and changed gears and kept going Cameron only a few feet away. I crossed the finish line. 

   "And the winner is Ariana Toretto!" Roman and Tej said at the same time. I unstrapped myself and got out of my car and walked up and got my money from the people who betted on me. I felt hands around my waist, Cameron.

   "Please tell me you're okay?" I turned around and he had a worried look on his face.

   "I am. Just sore that's it." I smiled and he put his hands on the side of my face, he leaned forward and put his forehead on mine. He smiled and hugged me, I hugged back.

   "Good job Ariana!" Roman said making me and Cameron pull away from each other, he smirked. Tej saw us and smiled and pulled Roman away from us.

   "Well if you don't  mind I would love to get dinner." I said looking at Cameron. He smiled and grabbed my hand leading us to his car, Tej said he'd take my car to my house.
