For a Tuesday night the bar was rammed but luckily Vince had hired extra help recently and everyone was eternally grateful for that. She looked down the bar to see who was next in line and her sight fell on Angelina Grave. Man, she didn't want to serve her. She was going to ask Vince or Billy to wait on her instead but they were both dealing with their own customers. She straightened up her black top and made her way over to her.
"What can I get you?" She asked politely. Her phone vibrated in her pocket and she knew it was Dylan, he had been calling her all day and she had yet to pick up. She needed space to figure out what they were doing.
"Oh it's you." Angelina looked repulsed just by the sight of her. "Least you've learnt that your place is to serve people."
"Just order a drink, Angelina."
"Don't you dare talk to me like that, you cow. You've no idea who you're messing with" If it wasn't for the fact that she knew Vince would fire her she would pick up the lemonade hose and squirt Angelina straight in her plastic face. She would just have to find the courage first. "Just because Dylan hasn't realised you're a piece of dirt, doesn't the mean the rest of us haven't."
Vince walked up behind her and placed a protective hand around her shoulders.
"Claw's away Angelina. I don't give two shits who your father is, upset Ally again and I will escort you out of here myself."
"You wouldn't do that to me, Vince. Besides I did nothing wrong. It's not my fault if she's as fragile as a doll."
"That's enough Angelina. I'll get you a drink and Ally can go on a well deserved break." He nodded at Ally and she didn't need telling twice. She didn't want to be here and he had just given her the perfect escape. She grabbed the can of Pepsi that Grant had brought her earlier out of the fridge and headed outside to the staff section. Vince didn't specify how long she should take, most breaks only lasted around twenty minutes so she would half that time. After all this was just a breather, they needed her in there.
She only took five minutes before she decided to head back, she opened the back door but left it ajar when she heard Vince's hushed voice on the other side. Pressing her head into the gap between the door and the wall she listened. She had always been incredibly nosey.
"She's not mine to protect but I will. She's a nice girl, she doesn't need the crap Angelina is giving her."
"I know. I'll talk to Angelina, it won't happen again." She recognised Dylan's voice immediately, a chill ran up her spine and she closed the door a little further to ensure they didn't catch her eavesdropping.
"I hope you're right. She seems to think that she has some sort of claim on you and she doesn't like the fact that you and Ally have a history." He obviously didn't know that they had recently been spending time together again. "I will bar her if she does and I don't give a fuck about the shit that will bring me. Ally is the best damn worker we've had in a long time and I'm not going to let anything hurt her."
She couldn't be confident but that had sounded like a threat to her. Despite standing in an uncomfortable position she pressed her ear further into the gap.
"Angelina is pure poison Dylan, why would you even go near her?"
She shifted her weight to her right hip and loosing her balance she stumbled into the door, forcing it further open. Both Vince and Dylan reacted instinctively as they both lunged forward, as if to catch her. She managed to balance herself and turning on her heels, she headed further out back, she needed another five minutes. Vince immediately went to go after her but Dylan held his arm up in front of him.
