Chantelle's POV
"Chantelle, were you disappointed when you got to know me?"
He mumbled beneath his breath as he turned his head around to look at me, his huge puppy dog blue eyes fixed on me, almost pleading me to say no. I cupped his face with the palms of my hand and caressed his face gently with both of my thumbs. I locked my eyes with his, shaking my head and flashing him a soft smile.
"Of course not, why would you say that?"
He broke our eyes contact and looked away, over his shoulder and into the distance. My hands fell back to my side as he turned his face away. His hand reached towards his hair as ruffled it frustratedly. My eyes widened slightly, surprised by his reaction. I heard him heaved a deep sigh as he uttered.
"Because I am a mess."
My heart broke a little when I heard his voice shake as he said it. I cupped his face and turned his face towards me to make him look at me again. When our eyes met, I shook my head repeatedly to reassure him that he wasn't. I flashed him a soft smile, my fingers pushing his hair away from his face before saying.
"You say you're a mess but I disagree, you're a walking piece of art and you're a masterpiece."
His blue eyes softened immediately after the words left my mouth and the sweetest smile appeared on his face. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me towards him and into his chest, holding onto me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck, closing my eyes and enjoying his embrace.
-
"Let me walk you home, it's late and I'm not taking no for an answer."
"Thank you."
He reached over to carry the canvas that I placed on the sidewalk while I held onto my top hat. He stood up and extended his free hand out towards me to help me up, I took his hand as he pulled me off the floor gently. I got up and placed my top hat against my chest, hugging it tightly as I walked down the streets with Kayden. Both of us making our way back to my place.
-
"We're here."
I mumbled to him as we arrived at the front of my house. I took out my phone to check the time, 11:11p.m., my eyes widened as I immediately shut my eyes and placed both of my hands together, interlocking my fingers to make a wish. After I finished making my wish, I opened my eyes to look at him.
"Did you make a wish?"
"I don't believe in wishes."
I smiled to the ground after I heard what he said, letting out a laugh before looking back up at him. I ran my hand through his hair, shaking my head. He raised a perfectly arched brow at me with a slight smirk on his face, he took a cigarette out from his pack of cigarettes in his pocket and placed it in his mouth. He offered me one, I shook my head, not wanting it. He lit his cigarette and took a puff out of it, before asking me.
"What's so funny love?"
"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."
He smiled slightly and shook his head in disbelief, taking another puff of his cigarette. I wonder what goes through that mind of his, I thought to myself. I took my top hat off the ground and my canvas from him, thanking him for helping me carry it. He took my handphone from my hand and keyed in his number inside, he called himself and placed his contact name in my phone as 'King'.
"I never said I didn't believe in magic, I mean, I used to, and then I stopped, for the longest of time, but everything changed since the day I met you."
He let out a cough, running a hand through his hair, pushing it back. He flashed his million dollar smile at me, returning my phone to me. He pulled me close to place a kiss onto my forehead. I smiled widely looking up at him, man this boy has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, I thought to myself again.
"And I'll know for sure that magic exists, if this cute girl that I gave my number to texts me tonight."
-
"Thank you for walking me home, I really appreciate it, be safe on your way home and text me when you've reached, alright?"
"Alright, have a good night Queen, don't dream about me too much."
"You wish."
"Damn, I should have wished for that just now, well, at least now I know what to wish for every 11:11."
I rolled my eyes, laughing at his silly antics. I thanked him one more time giving him a tight and big hug before making my way into my house. I took my keys from my pockets and unlocked the door, quietly making my way inside, taking off my shoes and socks. I laid down on the couch in my living room before saying out loud.
"Damn, why do I have this feeling that he is about the mess up my whole entire life?"
-
"Who's about to mess up your whole entire life?"
I screamed loudly when I heard someone talk, I turned around to see my mom having her hands crossed across her chest, smiling at me, her eyebrows arched, looking at me, laughing. I immediately felt the heat on my cheeks rising, causing my cheeks to turn into a bright pink color, resulting in my mom laughing even harder. I groaned from the embarrassment and hid my face with the cushion on the couch. I muffled softly to her.
"Mommy, I thought you were asleep already."
"I was waiting for my little princess to come home. So, who exactly is this boy missy?"
"Nobody, mom."
She took a seat beside me on the couch and removed the cushion off my face. She started to tickle me, resulting in me laughing really loudly and uncontrollably while kicking my legs in every direction, causing her to burst out laughing.
"Mommy, stop! Please, I'm begging you."
"Alright, alright."
She stops and brought me some food that she kept for me incase I got hungry. I flashed my mother the widest smile when she came back with the food, I told her to seat with me as I ate. She prepared a cup of hot cocoa for me and a cup of tea for herself. I took a sip out of her hot cocoa before smiling softly, I loved the taste of my mom's hot cocoa, it's truly one of the best things in the world.
"So, about this boy..."
-
After I was finished with my shower, I brushed my teeth and got changed into my pyjamas, ready to end the night. I made my way over to my bed and took my phone from my nightstand. I unlocked my phone and head over to the message icon and clicked it. I pressed new messages and tried to find Kayden's contact, I panicked slightly when I browsed the contact and found none under Kayden, I then remembered that he saved his contact under 'King', I clicked on it and thought of what to send.
The canvas! I thought to myself, rushing downstairs to my living room to take my top hat and today's canvas back to my room. I smiled softly as I looked at today's canvas. I placed it on top of my dresser before making my way back into bed again, holding onto my phone, looking at the unwritten message. I searched up cheesy pick up lines on google before selecting one to send it to him.
C: I would offer you a cigarette, but you're already smoking hot.
I internally cringed at myself for sending that, laughing softly as I slowly tried to recall and remember all the events that happened today. I held my phone close to my chest, squealing softly, tossing and turning on my bed, smiling widely. I sent Kayden one more message before falling into a deep sleep and entering lalaland where I may or may not be seeing Kayden once more, who am I trying to kid, of course I am.
C: Thank you for today, have a good night rest and I'll see you tomorrow! Good night and have the sweetest dreams. x
