I Like The Sound Of That sung by Rascal Flatts
Jack groaned and rolled over, tangling himself in the blankets. The sound of the shower turned on, making him smile. He listened to the sound of her voice sing along with some Timberlake bumpin'. He had nothing on her. She was the star. Jack sat up and stretched in his bed and let out a big yawn. He headed to the bathroom, only to have her push by him in only a towel.
As he brushed his teeth, he listened to the coffee machine begin to pour her a cup. The sound of her heels clicked down the hallway. She came back into the bathroom and planted a goodbye kiss on his cheek. "Bye Jack." She grinned. Her back was in a loose braid and she was in her pencil skirt. Great. Another long day with her.
"Bye Els." Jack softly smiled. He heard her lock the door and he softly frowned. He hated how she always had to work. Her job ruined everything. Jack grabbed his phone and turned up the volume up. It was way too quiet at his place.
After awhile of doing nothing at home, he decided to go for a drive. Since all of the crops were just beginning to grow, he didn't have much to do. He hopped into his red pickup truck. He listened to some old country songs. It was a little too loud on highway. There was nothing going on but people driving with places to be, places to go.
Suddenly, the sound of Justin Timberlake blared from his cup holder. He quickly snatched it and answered the call. "Hey Elsa." He greeted.
"Hi Jack. So, do you wanna come on over? It's a little boring right now." Elsa replied. Jack already turned the truck around, headed towards her little blue house.
"I like the sound of that." Jack smirked, thinking about the sound of her gravel driveway. He liked the sound of the pebbles bumping the bottom of his truck. God, he couldn't wait to see her again. As he drove down the highway, she continued to blow up his phone, begging him to come faster.
"Jack!" Elsa smiled as he entered her house. She gave him a huge hug and led him to the shed. "Guess what we're going to do tonight." She smiled as she tossed things around in her messy, unused shed. It was covered in dust, making Jack smile.
"What?" He chuckled. She smiled and handed him a lawn chair. It was completely covered in dust, showing that she hadn't used it in years.
"We're going to watch the storm." She grinned, dust covering her face. She sneezed making little baby dust bunnies fly. She giggled then pushed him out, wanting to get the best seats.
The thunder rolled off the hills in front of them. Jack loved that sound. Lighting flashed in the sky, giving them a free show. She moved a little closer to him. Eventually, she moved out of her chair and sat in his lap. She curled up on him, taking a deep breath. He could hear her heart beating, loving the sound.
"No, no, no! One time, I tried to do a handstand against the door and Anna opened it from the other side and I completely crushed her!" Elsa exclaimed. Jack and Elsa burst out in laughter as the storm died down. The dark gray clouds slowly blew away as they laughed in her driveway.
Her neighbors flashed lights at them. "Excuse me people are trying to sleep," Merida scolded. They just stuck out their tongues and continued to talk under the twinkling stars and the giant moon. "Elsa!" Merida shouted.
"What Mer?" Elsa asked from Jack's lap. Elsa loved Merida and all, but whenever it came to making Merida happy or being happy herself, she was going to be a little selfish.
"You might not have work in the morning, but I do. Actually, it's very important and if I don't sleep, I could possibly lose my job and I'll have your head on a platter." Merida threatened. Elsa softly scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Hey, calm down. We're just having a little fun." Jack replied, he met Merida a couple times, but she always seemed to hate him so he didn't spend much time with her.
"You're already on my hit list, so if I were you, I would keep your yap shut." Merida growled back through the window. Jack was about to get up when Elsa laid a hand on his chest.
"She doesn't mean any harm, Jack. She just really loves sleep. A lot. She's a good friend, I promise." Elsa assured. He shrugged his shoulders and they went back to talking. Eventually, Merida threw rocks at them. They checked their phones reading 2:23 am.
"Let's go back inside. People just don't like to hear us laugh I guess." She giggled. Jack chuckled and picked up their chairs. He carried them inside and placed them against her white walls.
"Merida sure is picky, isn't she?" Jack teased. Elsa shook her head, making her blonde curls lay on her shoulders. She turned and faced Jack.
"Not really, she's really nice. Did I ever tell you about the time some creep came over here and she scared him away?" Elsa asked. Jack shook his head frowning. Shouldn't he have been the one to save the day?
"Well it was years before I meet you. I just moved in and this creep came over, trying to get me to go in a date with him. Merida told him to back off, which he wouldn't. Eventually, she sent her dog after him and the creep never came back." Elsa softly laughed, thinking about that memory.
"Didn't know she could be nice." Jack chuckled. She gave him a kiss and went back to cleaning up.
He watched her light a few candles. She shuffled past him and he listened to her lock her door. She turn on her radio and turned down all the lights. Jack raised his eyebrow at her. She gave him a playful smile and pulled him back to the bedroom. He wasn't going anywhere tonight and he was all her's.
