Chapter 17

(Jacob's POV)

"Remember what?" Barney asked.

"Uh.. I-uh... remember what I came here for. I wanted to talk with you and Red since I've been gone for a long time but Red isn't here so I'll talk with you."

"Oh... okay let me get dressed first." Barney said.

Barney turned and started walking to his room. I noticed his side where he was bleeding out in my memory looks completely fine as if nothing happened.

"Hey John?"

"Yeah Jacob? What is it?"

"Haven't you been shot before?" I asked.

"...no... why do you ask?" Barney asked with suspicion.

"Oh well I remember seeing you bleeding out on the ground right there." I said pointing to a spot near the wall.

"R-really? Do... do you remember anything else?" Barney asked coming right next to me.

I bit my lower lip and took a deep breath. I leaned in closer to Barney and locked lips with him giving him a lustful kiss. After a few seconds I back away, letting reality settle back into the both of us.

"Yeah I remember everything Barney." I said.

Barney's face lit up with happiness and relief once he processed what I told him. He put his hands on my waist as we kissed once more. Barney was laying on his back on the couch while I was on top of him.

While we were kissing his hands went from my waist to my backside. I felt discomfort grow because of the sensitive spot. I pushed the discomfort aside and continued to kiss Barney.

Barney began grabbing my backside which sent pain throughout my body making me interrupt the kiss and start panting frantically.

"What's wrong!?" Barney asked worried.

"I-its nothing. I-I'm fine. I just need some fresh air."

"I'm sorry. I did something didn't I?"

"No. It's not your fault. I just need some fresh air. Let's get together again soon. Okay?"

Barney nodded and I kissed him goodbye. I walked out of his house and started to go back home.

(30 minutes later)
(Max's POV)

"Ross what are we watching?" I asked Ross.

"A new anime I found. It's pretty good, I think you'll like it." Ross replied.

My phone started ringing. I reached into my pocket and grabbed my phone. I answered the call and put the phone up to my ear.

M- hello?
U- Max LaPlume?
M- speaking.
U- this is the police department. we are informing you that the criminal that kidnapped Jacob has escaped. We have reason to believe that he will go after Jacob again so we have a patrol car heading for your location to take you and Jacob to a safe house.
M- o-okay. He isn't home right now but I'll find out where he is right now.

I hung up the phone and began to click on Jacob's contact to call him. I put my phone to my ear.

J- hey you've reached Jacob's voicemail. Please leave a message after the beep.

Voicemail. Straight to voicemail. This isn't good. He would normally answer.

I clicked on Barney's contact. I put my phone up to my ear and waited for him to answer.

B- hello?
M- John! Is Jacob still there?
B- no he left a half hour ago. Why?
M- dammit! The criminal that kidnapped him has escaped. The police told me that he may go after Jacob again.
B- Red and I will come over right away.
M- okay. Thank you.

I hung up the phone and looked at Ross. He looked worried and scared.

"Is that true? The kidnapper escaped?"

"Yeah Ross. It's true."

"Do you know where Jacob is?"

"No."
