"Now how did I miss this at the party?" I said in shock noticing a small bump poking out of Jordan's shirt.

"Shit I missed it too." She laughed. "I thought I was just getting fat or something."

"How far along are you?" I asked.

"4 months." She answered, sipping some of her drink.

"You excited?" I smiled cutting up Carter's chicken strips.

"I'm not excited about having two young kids, but it's whatever." She sighed. "Plus I'm not looking forward to doing all this by myself again."

"Well, I can help here and there." I reassured her.

"I appreciate that." She nodded. "You don't have to help you know that right?"

"I know, and I want to." I shrugged. "If you need anything just let me know."

She nodded and we finished eating our lunch. I paid the bill and we went to the mall. Jordan wanted to do a little shopping for Jamari and the new baby and I had to pick up some things for Carter.

"Isn't this just the cutest?" She held up a little blue onesie. "I forgot how cute little baby clothes were."

"Yeah, they are." I laughed. "Jordan can I ask you something?"

"Mhm." She looked through more clothes.

"Did you tell the dad yet?"

"Yeah.." She sighed. "We talked last night and he said he would do what he could here and there. But I don't know.. I know how he is."

I kind of felt bad for Jordan. I couldn't imagine going through an entire pregnancy by myself. When I was pregnant with Carter, Chris was there the whole way. I never had to question him being there for me.

But in Jordan's case, it was the complete opposite. She told me Jamari's dad wasn't really there for him but only sent money every month and would come see him every now and then. Now with this baby, she's going through the same thing again.

After shopping around for a little while, I dropped Jordan back off at her house then headed back to the hotel. To my surprise, Chris was standing there by the door on his phone. I switched Carter to my other hip and cleared my throat to catch his attention.

"Damn, took you long enough." He said jokingly. "When you told me you were out shopping with Jordan, I didn't think it'd take you this long."

"Why are you here anyway?" I said with an attitude.

"I wanted to surprise my two favorite girls." He said with a smile while pinching Carter's cheeks.

"You could've just stayed home." I mumbled under my breath.

He sighed and stuck his hands down in his pockets. I unlocked the door to the room and went inside with him following behind me. He took Carter from me and she laid her head on his shoulder.
