The next day, Sanosuke came over with a new map plan for the diving trio. As he laid it out along the table, Megumi didn’t recognize the area.
“Usually I can identify the location easily, but I don’t recognize these coordinates at all.” Sanosuke grinned.
“That’s because it's a new one that was just discovered a few days ago.” Miroku shot up.
“Are you serious?!”
“Of course I am. I heard it was spotted by some sailors who were making a delivery across sea. Even better, the investigation agency is going to allow us to be the first ones to check it out.” Megumi's face lit up.
“You’re kidding!”
“Nope. We're all good to go.” Megumi couldn’t contain her excitement as she threw her arms around him.
“We're finally going to get to be the first ones to see a brand new sight! This is so awesome!” While Megumi and Sanosuke were thrilled about the idea, Miroku was playing it cautious.
“Are you sure that’s such a good idea? For all we know, this new reef could be a haven for sea life that’s not the sociable type.” Sanosuke threw his arm around his shoulders.
“Ah, come on, man. Weren’t you the one who kept telling Megumi not to be a worry wart? If that were the case, than we wouldn’t be the first ones to check it out would we? They did a scan of that area over water and detected no sign of dangerous life forms. Its perfectly safe.” Megumi was totally ecstatic as she tried to keep herself together.
“So when do we head out?” Sanosuke looked at her.
“As soon as I fix up the boat. I'll have her in tip top shape early tomorrow morning.”
“All right! In that case, I better go to the store and buy supplies. After all, the last time we went to a new spot we stayed there for three days straight. Now were going to a totally new reef that hasn’t even been mapped yet? We might stay out twice as long!” Before Miroku could stop her, Megumi ran off to grab her purse and head to the store.
“Man, that woman gets so energetic when it comes to shopping for supplies.” Sanosuke gave Miroku's shoulder a pat as he was preparing to head out too.
“Well, I better get started on my preparations too. See you there tomorrow?”
“What? Oh, yeah sure.” Miroku was still a little uneasy.
“Relax man, everything’s going to be fine.”
“Yeah sure.” As Sanosuke left, Miroku carefully studied the map.
“I sure hope you’re right, Sano.”
Early the next morning, Megumi and Miroku packed up all the supplies Megumi had bought from the store and headed down to the port. There, Sanosuke and Shippo were waiting for them.
“You guys ready for this?”
“You know we are.” Megumi squealed as she jumped on board.
“As ready as we'll ever be.” Miroku stated. After packing everything in its place, Sanosuke started up the engine and set out for their next underwater adventure. After about three hours, they finally arrived at the new reef. Megumi looked over the edge of the boat.
“I guess it's too far down for you to be able to see it from here. Did the sailors give us any indication as to how deep it is?” Sanosuke grinned as he walked up behind her.
“I don’t know. Why don’t you go find out for us?” Before she could stop him, Sanosuke gave her a little push. That was all it took to send her over the edge.
