The next morning, news about Sango's escape was all over the place. With no leads as to who the perpetrator was, the detective agency had no leads to go on.
“Ha! Ha! Ha! I can't believe we managed to pull it off!” Sanosuke laughed.
“It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I only wish I could have seen the look on that watchman’s face when he realized he had been watching reruns.” Megumi stated.
“I can only imagine the shock Konzake went through when he heard the news. Poor guy probably had a heart attack.” Miroku pointed out.
“Yeah really, that would have given any manager a heart attack hearing news that their best attraction had been swiped from under their noses.” The three friends couldn’t help but laugh.
“I bet you feel a lot better knowing Sango managed to get away, right Miroku?”
“You bet I do, Megumi. The fact that I was able to save her like she saved me. I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am to have gotten her out of there.”
“So than, what shall we do now? We don’t have any diving work to do. And you know me, I hate just setting around doing nothing.” Megumi stated.
“Well, we could go back to the reef and see if Sango's there. She mentioned the ship was one of her favorite places to hang out.” Miroku suggested.
“How can a sunken ship be any fun?” Megumi asked.
“I don’t know. Than again, they don’t exactly have the luxury life down there. I mean it's not like they have shopping malls or movie theaters.” Sanosuke stated.
“That is true. I wonder what mermaids do for fun anyway?”
“Well, you could ask Sango yourself next time you see her.” Miroku suggested. Sanosuke let out a chuckle.
“You sure seem anxious to see her again real soon. Does the handsome prince miss his mermaid princess?” Miroku's face turned bright red.
“What?! What are you saying?! I just want to make sure she made it home safe that’s all!”
“Sure you do.” Megumi struggled not to laugh. Miroku just sat there with an annoyed look on his face.
“Anyway, I will admit, going back to the reef does sound like fun. We don’t really have anything else to do.” Megumi stated.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Sanosuke agreed. Miroku jumped up.
“Alright than! Let's head out now! I'll go grab some supplies from the kitchen.” Before he could leave the room, Megumi grabbed his arm.
“Whoa, hold on there speedy. You'd better let me handle the kitchen arrangements. You can go and help Sanosuke get the boat ready.”
“Oh yeah, sure. Let's go Sano!” With that, he rushed out the door and towards the harbor.
“He's totally hopeless.” Sanosuke stated as he headed after him. All Megumi could do was smile.
“At least he's happy.”
As soon as they made it back to the reef, Miroku started putting his diving gear on.
“Come on, guys! Let's get going! She could be down there right now!”
“Whoa, slow down there tiger. I think you need to slow down and take it easy.” Megumi suggested.
“What makes you say that?” Megumi gave him a funny look.
“Well, for one thing, you’re putting your flippers on the wrong feet.” Miroku looked down and realized she was right. He'd put his left flipper on his right foot and his right flipper on his left foot. Face now bright red, he quickly switched them.
