I pressed my ear against the door, trying to listen to the conversation. I had gotten caught running away from another foster home. They had taken me back to foster care and now they were in the next room trying to decide what they were going to do to me."I don't want to send him to another foster home, he'll just run away again."I heard one of the workers say.

"Then what do you suppose we do to the brat."The other worker argued.
There was a moment of silence.
"We'll send him to a boarding school in New York city. I heard they're still a chance to put students in that school.  We'll send him there, we won't have to put up with him, he'll be their problem."The worker said. There was silence that I could only assume was the man pondering over the idea. Oh no, I was not going to a boarding school, I'd rather be on the run.

I continued to listen,"Very well, go out and tell the brat to pack his things, he's going to New York."The worker said, my face paled, I took a step back from the door as I heard shuffling footsteps. I turned and ran for the exit, only to have two other workers each grab both my arms and hold me back, "Let me go!"I shouted at them, but they didn't. The worker from the room came out and stood in front of me "LEO VALDEZ!"He shouted at me,"You have led us on quite a chase, but we won't put up with you no more, as of now, you are a new student for a boarding school in New York. You will listen, and you will not run away, we have already packed your suit case, now get to bed, cause tomorrow morning, you will be on a plane to New York."He said to me, then turned to the workers that were holding me. "Take him to a room."He told them, they nodded and started to lead me down the hall, they had let go of my arms, but had their hands gripped on my shoulders, knowing that if they let go I would run.

Finally, we had stopped in front of a door, they opened it and led me inside. There were five bunks, four of them were occupied by a few boys my age, maybe a year or two older, but as soon as they saw me, they looked like they wanted to pound me.

They all scowled at me as if I had done something to them. A memory tugged on the back of my head, suddenly I had remembered, these guys were the bullies here. One day at lunch they had tried to bully me on my first day here, and instead I had ended up making a fool out of them by making jokes.
I wasn't so sure they were glad to see me now either. The two workers sat me on an empty bed that had a suitcase next to it, and then left leaving me with my old enemies. They all snickered at me."Hey Valdez, ran away from another foster home I see, when will you learn you don't belong anywhere."One of them said, laughing along with the rest of them.

I clenched my jaw and turned my back to them,"Aw what's wrong Valdez,no jokes now. We mine as well put you out of your misery."another one said. Then I felt rough hands grab my shoulders as I was thrown to the side of the room. I winced and held my now bruised side. The four boys towered over me smirking. I got up and tried to walk back to my bunk, but the boys stopped me.

"You don't belong anywhere, no one wants you."one of them said as I walked back to my bunk. I gritted my teeth.
"Move."I said in a hard voice. They mocked being scared.

"Oh wow I'm so scared of this guy."
"What are you gonna do about it."
"You're such a disappointment."
"You're a waste of space."
With every comment they shoved me hard against the wall.

"You know what, his mother probably left him on purpose to get away from this murderer."one of them said gesturing to me. Suddenly my eyes darkened, the next thing you know I was on top of the guy who had made the comment, I had pinned to the floor and was punching him.

Workers imeadiatley came and pulled me off the guy which had gotten a good amount of bruises and a bloody nose. A couple of them began to nurse the guy while some other workers took me to a another room with only one bed, no windows, no way to escape. They sat me down on the bed and put my suitcase next to the bed. They glared at me before leaving. I sighed and glared at the ceiling until my eyes tired out and I drifted into a dreamless sleep.
