The boy had burnished bronze skin with cornrows woven like DNA helixes.
"Ah Austin, those are the new students over there, thank you for being their guide."The lady at the desk said, the boy turned to them and walked over.

The boy nodded at us.
"Hey I'm Austin Lake, nice to meet you all."he said. The group said hey to him and stood, making their way out of the office.
They went to the gym where a bunch of kids were playing dodge ball and watched as it came down to only two players were left.

It was a girl with blonde hair and green dyed hair tips, and a guy that was tall and built with brown hair, brown eyes, and a crooked smirk on his face.
"Uh yeah hey emo girl, I don't think you would be able to actually throw, so you mine as well just-"
He was cut off by a ball flying straight to his face and hitting him square in the nose. He fell and groaned in pain.

Austin cheered and clapped.
"Whoo go Kayla!"he yelled, the girl turned to him and smiled, waving.
She walked over to them.

Austin introduced her to them,
"Guys this is my half sister Kayla."he said, they all smiled at Kayla.
"Nice shot, you put him in his right place."Thalia said, Kayla grinned.
"Thanks-"
"Thalia, Thalia Grace but please don't use my last name."she said.

Leo stepped up, and bowed deeply in a goofy way.
"Leo Valdez, at your service."he said, Kayla giggled.

Annabeth stuck out a hand,
"Annabeth Chase pleased to meet you."She said, Kayla shook her hand.

Hazel shyly waved at Kayla.
"I'm Hazel Levesque and this is my brother Nico Di Angelo."She said nodding Nico who gave Kayla a small nod.

"I'm Frank Zhang nice to meet you."Frank said bluntly. Kayla smiled at him.

"I'm Piper McLean nice to meet you."piper said in a kind tone, she held out a hand and Kayla shook it.

"I'm Jason Grace, Thalia's younger brother."Jason said, smiling kindly, Kayla returned the smile.

"It's nice to meet you all."She said, she looked as if she was about to say more but that guy she knocked out on dodgeball came over to size the group up.
"You know I let you win right? I mean as if a girl could beat me at dodgeball-"the guy whimpered as Kayla kicked him in his royal jewels. Everyone held back laughs, finally they couldn't take it anymore, they all burst out laughing.

Kayla smiled satisfied as the guy crawled back towards his friends who sneered at her and the rest of them.
Leo high fived Kayla laughing his head off.
Finally when everyone calmed down, they all left the gym, Kayla following.
"Hey who was that guy anyway?"Jason asked.
"That was Brent, he's one of those jocks that think they own everything they touch."Austin answered.

Austin and Kayla showed them the cafeteria, the back of the school where there were tables that according to Austin, is where some students preferred to eat. They saw the football field, where some football players were practicing. Afterwards, Austin showed them where their classes were located, and their dormrooms

The girls all sat on the floor and beds of the dorm room that the girls shared together. The guys went to go see there dorm room and hang out there.
"So who are you guys gonna go to the Halloween dance with?"Kayla asked.

"I don't know about you guys but I have no idea."Annabeth said.
"Me too."Hazel said nodding in agreement.
"Myself."Thalia said.

"Same."Kayla agreed.
"What about you Piper?"Annabeth asked, Hazel grinned.

"Maybe she'll go with blonde superman?"Hazel said smiling. Piper's eyebrows knitted together.

"Who's blonde superman?"She asked. Thalia laughed and rolled her eyes,

"Oh it's this stupid nickname our cousin made for Jason, it was so funny. Once we were at his house and Jason went up on the roof and started singing I believe I can fly and jumped off landing on our cousin who then called him a blonde superman."Thalia laughed wiping tears from her eyes a long with Hazel.

The girls started to laugh as well,
"What's he like?"Annabeth asked,

"Well very annoying. He has black raven hair with eyes the color of the sea, with a goofy trouble maker smile that usually means trouble.
He's a skater, usually rides his skate board with a friend of his though I forgot his name."Thalia said.

"Though despite all that, he's very loyal. And will stick by your side through anything. . . and protect you. . . no matter what. . ."Hazel said, her eyes filled with tears that she struggled to blink back.

Thalia noticed this and hugged Hazel, she having a similar expression herself.
"He sounds like an amazing person."Piper said.

"He is."Hazel agreed, Thalia nodded.

"Did something happen to him?"Kayla asked, but then clamped a hand over her mouth, an apologetic look on her face.

"Sorry that was completely rude. Forget I asked anything."Kayla said.

"Its alright we're fine."Thalia said.

"What's his name?"Annabeth asked.

"Percy. Perseus Jackson."Thalia said.
