Since neither of them went back to Hogwarts with train, just like none of their friends did, Draco and Harry had first seen each other during the dinner. McGonagall said few words about getting back and how studying should be more intense than ever, especially for fifth, seventh and eight years, but Harry didn't really listen. He knew Hermione remembered every single word McGonagall said and that she will tell him parts of it every single day for the rest of the semester.
The dinner was nice, filled with chatter, hot meals and subtle glances across the hall. The two could barely keep themselves down on their seats; they wanted to see each other again and kiss each other and hold each other and feel each other. For them, it felt like eight years and not like eight days. Sure, they've written to each other multiple times a day but it just wasn't the same as talking face to face. Draco knew Harry's going to laugh at the jokes he wrote between the lines of his letters but he wouldn't be there to hear Harry's laugh. God, they couldn't wait for the dinner to end.
And when it finally did, Draco excused himself to Pansy and Blaise and said that it was the night of his turning tonight. They left him alone, tapping his back and wishing him good night. Harry, however, wasn't as lucky. The moment he exited the Great Hall Hermione started talking about NEWTs and that it would be the best if the trio spent the night in catching up and revising for the upcoming semester. Ron nodded and agreed to everything she said. Maybe they were engaged but still, he wouldn't like to get her angry. So when Harry followed them up the stairs, Draco caught his eyes from downstairs. Harry wanted to run to him and kiss him mad but the staring at his boyfriend caused him to trip.
'Harry, what the hell are you doing? Do you want to break your leg so you don't have to study?' Hermione asked with a raised eyebrow but Harry shook his head.
'Do you have a quill?' he asked and Hermione gave him one with a bunch of questions like:
'What do you need a quill for?' and 'Why don't you carry your own quills around?'
Harry didn't answer but took the quill and quickly unscrewed the lid of the ink bottle. He took a piece of parchment and scribbled few words on and then gave the writing supplies back to the curled haired girl and folded the paper.
'Is that for me?' Ron said with a smirk and tried to get the note but Harry was quicker. He smacked his fingers and kept folding the parchment into a simple paper plane.
' It's private' Harry said and pretended to put the plane into his back pocket when really, he threw it in Draco's direction and started climbing the stairs again with his friends behind him.
Draco's eyes traced the smooth flight of the paper plane and caught it easily when it landed in his hands. He unfolded it and read Harry's words and then with a smile walked toward the Eight year's common room.
.o0o.
Hours later, Draco was impatiently tapping his thigh with his fingers; Harry was, as always, late. When he finally showed up, Draco hugged him tight before kissing his lips as gentle as he could.
'You let me wait half of the night to finally come and meet you and then you're late?' Draco asked and kissed him harder not giving Harry a chance to speak. They kissed hard and fast and messy because they couldn't get enough of each other, their tongues fought for dominance but Draco soon melted at the touch of Harry's fingers under his shirt. Eventually, they had to separate to breath, although if you asked them, dying while kissing the other would be the best way to go.
'I'm sorry I'm late' Harry said and buried his face in the crook of Draco's neck. He smelled like vanilla and ginger and freshly baked cookies. 'I had to get rid of Ron and he kept saying that I really should get some sleep or something and that these meetings with my girlfriend' Draco snickered at the word 'aren't really good for me and that I should sleep more. And then there was Hermione and I couldn't really tell her that I have to go and see you in front of Ron. Plus she really wanted us to study tonight and all that shit. And I really couldn't get out earlier. I'm sorry.' Harry ended with a peck on Draco's lips but when the blond's palms grabbed his face the kiss became more heated.
