Chapter 11

The wind wakes me. Again. It appears every time my dreams aren't plagued by nightmares, Mother Nature decides I don't deserve the luxury of actually sleeping.

I roll my eyes, severely aggravated at the incessant pounding of rain on the clearly abused window. It's funny how much I can relate to that poor fücking window.

I shake my head, before sweeping my wandering hair behind my ears. No point in diving into those depressing memories. I close my eyes, aimlessly attempting to tune out the rough housing from outside.

It doesn't take long for me to give up. I sit up, before quickly realising how much the temperature dropped overnight, and quickly wrapping the blanket tightly around me.

I'm finally starting to fall back asleep when a knock raps at the door. Growling in frustration, I quickly jump out of the warm bed and briskly troop towards the door. Swinging it open, I'm met with a slightly startled looking Cabe.

"I didn't think you'd be awake," he whispers, whilst glancing down my figure.

I raise an eyebrow at him, "Well, you did wake me up," I stare at him accusingly. He smirks. Why the fuck is he smirking. I cross my arms, now slightly uncomfortable with his staring. I glance down at myself. Shit.

I'm only wearing his shirt. It does reach about mid thigh, but still. My legs are bare, and due to me crossing my arms earlier, my boobs are pushed up completely.

My arms drop immediately, as I try to gather some sense of courage to look him in the eye. However, I don't get very far before he does it for me, gently lifting my head to face him. His fingers are warm, contrasting against my slightly freezing self.

As I meet his eyes, I'm once again greeted with his slightly unbearable hotness, tousled hair and all. My thoughts don't get very far before he interrupts,

"You look really sexy right now," I take in a sharp breath, his words affecting me in a way I barely understand. That was unexpected. Shit, I really don't need him to further the amount of attraction I feel for him.

He brushes my straying locks behind my ear and takes a step forward. There's only a few inches between us, and my eyes widen in shock at the sudden position I'm now in.

His blue eyes scorch mine, his calloused hand hovering lightly behind my neck. I take a breath, completely entranced with his eyes, his face, his everything.

I bite my lip, trying to ignore the intense hotness washing over me, consuming me.

It quickly becomes too much. Memories slowly creep into my mind as he applies a light pressure to the back of my neck, cradling it. Tingles erupt down my spine.

I can't do this.

"No." My voice weakly protests, and I curse myself for making myself so vulnerable.

Cabe immediately breaks his light hold on me, and I stumble back, already missing his touch.

His face flashes in my mind and I squeeze my eyes shut, desperately trying to ignore the taunting words that repeat in my head.

"I'll find you Sawyer. I'll always find you."

I whimper clutching my head, frantically shaking it.

"Sawyer, stop. You're fine, it's just me." Cabe's husky voice breaks the cycle in my head. I breathe. Coming back to my senses, I rapidly realise Cabe's hands holding mine away from my head.
