When I wake up, I am in a hospital bed. An excruciating pain shoots through my head from where they cut me. Looks like I won't be going to the meeting today. I gently run my hand along the back of my head and feel a scar. Stitches. A nurse comes in and helps me get out.
" How long was I out?" I ask her.
" The whole day. It's morning now.". She walks me back to my room and tells me to rest. She says that I don't have to attend classes today and my food will be brought here so I can't meet my friends today either. She brings me breakfast but i'm not hungry so I just have a glass of juice. She leaves me alone and I look at the ceiling. How am I going to see my friends? Pain shoots through the back of my head and I take some painkillers. Even thinking makes my head hurt. I stare at the ceiling for who knows how long. After lunch, i'm bored out of my mind. I can't stay cooped up in this room any longer. Soon, night falls and I know its time for me to go.
I push the blanket away and carefully lift my head off the pillow, which sends pain through my head. I keep going, placing my feet on the floor. I quickly throw on my shoes and get under the bed. I move away the drain and now comes the hard part, getting in. I remember what Adam had told me. Legs first, crouch down, arms next. Since i'm crawling and my head is down all the time, my head won't stop throbbing. I try my best to remember the path to the meeting room. When I reach it, I see that it is blocked by another drain in the wall. I knock on it and see someone walking towards me. Please let this be the right room. The person crouches down and I see his face. It's Adam.
" Hey! Where were you last night and during meal times?" He said through the drain.
" Could you at least let me in first?"
"Oh right!" He opens the drain and I crawl through. I see that everybody is there except for Paul. He must not be here yet. Casey runs up to me and helps me stand up.
" We were so worried about you! We thought you got caught or something." The others all agree.
" Now explain."
So I tell them everything that happened yesterday, how they wanted to study my brain and put a chip in it. Some people looked shocked, others frightened. We continue doing what we do everyday. Play games and talk. Before we know it, it is the next day. I guess time really does fly by when you're having fun. We say our goodbyes and head off to our rooms. Once I'm back, I lie down on the bed. It felt great while I was out of here but now I was back in. I didn't even feel my head hurt until now. I must have been really tired and didn't even know when I fell asleep.

As soon as I wake up, Michelle walks in and tells me that I get to start my classes again. She gives me a new schedule.
I stare at it " The only class I have is puzzles? That too for 6 hours?"
"Well you do get a break after 3 hours. For lunch." She replies. I nod and get ready. She asks me how my head is and I tell her its fine and doesn't hurt. Obviously it does but I don't tell her the truth.
" You seem a bit down." She asks. " Would seeing your sister help?". My eyes widen and I turn to her, nodding excitedly causing her to laugh. Michelle is a really great person, compared to the other people who work here. She tells me I can see her before dinner so I have something to look forward to at the end of the day. She asks if I need help getting to my class but I tell her I know the way. She leaves and I walk to my class. I've taken only a few steps before she comes running back to me.
" Oh Mara! I forgot. After Lunch, follow your friends to their puzzles class. You get to do it together since your current puzzles teacher will be busy after lunch. Okay that's all, goodbye!"
