I exited the room, one sentence filling my mind.

You do wan't to help people, don't you?

It was true. I did want to help people, but how. How is ' kidnapping' children and running tests on them going to help anyone? I pushed away any thoughts I had and walked to my room. After 10 minutes of walking, I realized I was lost.

" Great." I whispered to myself. I turned around and started walking back when a door caught my eye. There was a small window at the top and I could see through it. It looked like the inside of a hospital. I saw a woman standing at a counter. She was holding a syringe. I strained my ears to ear what she was saying.

" Now, don't you worry. You'll just feel a little pinch.".

" But what is that?". another voice spoke. I recognized the voice. It was Abby. I looked from the corner of the window and saw the woman approaching her. Without thinking, I burst through the door.

" Get away from her.". The woman looked stunned.

" I'm sorry ma'am, you're not allowed in here.". Her voice showed no emotion.

" Mara!" Abby yelled and ran up to me, only to be pulled back by the woman. I grabbed another syringe from the counter and began approaching the woman.

" I said let her go. NOW!" I yelled. I dashed forward and pushed her down. I held the syringe near her face.

" Now tell me what were you doing to her!" I screamed. The woman looked terrified and began yelling for security so I punched her across the face.

" Touch my sister again and your nose won't be the only thing bleeding.". I let go of her and rushed to Abby, hugging her tightly.

" Abby what did she do to you?" I asked.

" They said they were going to run tests on me. That medicine was suppose to put me to sleep." She said, pointing to the syringe the woman was holding.

" Mara, i'm scared.". Well guess what Abby, i'm scared too. These people are crazy and I just want to go home. Thats what I wanted to say. Instead I comforted her.

" I'ts okay. I won't let anything happen to you." I hugged her. Just then, I felt hands grab my shoulders and yank me back. I turned around to see a guard standing next the woman who I attacked earlier. The guard was holding a gun and it was pointed at me. It didn't look like a normal gun. More like a tranquilizer. I stood in front of Abby.

" I need you to leave." The guard spoke. I shook my head. No way I was leaving my sister with these maniacs. Just then, the door opened and two more guards grabbed me. They lifted me up and dragged me out of the room. I screamed for Abby and she screamed for me but the guards didn't care. They dragged me down hallways and threw me into my room. I heard the sound of the door locking and ran to it. I pounded on the door until my knuckles turned red.

" OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR!" I shouted. A guard's face appeared in the window and he gave me a nasty scowl. I flipped him the finger and threw myself onto the bed. This place sucks. My eyelids felt heavy and began closing. Before I knew it, I was asleep.

The time has come.

I jerked awake. Same nightmare, same ending, same sentence. The person dying this time was Alex and I couldn't even check on him. Been here one day and i'm already missing people. I propped myself on my elbow and check the time. 2.48 a.m. I didn't feel tired to I got up and started walking around. I even tried opening the door but it was locked. I unpacked my suitcase. Obviously we couldn't wear our own clothes so that was a waste of space. I took out a book, and thank god I had packed it because I had no idea that it would be this boring. I sat in a corner of the room and began reading. After about 20 minutes, I heard a noise. It was a screeching sound, you know how it sounds like when metal scrapes metal? Yeah that. I ran to the door and looked out the small window. Nothing. Door still locked. Great Mara now you're hearing things. How much more time until you go full on crazy? I was starting to freak out so I grabbed the dagger and held it behind my back, ready to throw it at anything that jumped up. Just then, a drain slid out from under my bed. I started approaching it. It's either a person or a really big rat. Hopefully the first. I saw a hand pop out followed by a head.
