When it was lunch, I sat by myself after I got my food.

That is until a group of kids sat at my table, Tony included.

"Can I help you?" Tony smiled.

"These are my friends. That's Ryan, Joey, Lily, and Allison. Sitting next to you is Ruby and sitting next to me is Ethan." They all said some sort of greeting.

"I love your hair, it's really pretty." Ruby complimented me.

I thanked her.

They all immediately went into conversations and I stared at my tray with small portions.
"So, how do you like your classes so far?" Tony tried to include me.

I didn't mind most classes, other than my biology teacher being an absolute douche-bag.
"They're fine. I haven't been in a public school in so long so this is all new to me." Someone scoffed.

"Why weren't you in school? Wait, were you one of those homeschooled freaks with super religious parents?" Lily questioned me.

She seemed a lot more particular than the rest of them.

While everyone was dressed in band tees and skinny jeans, she had a pink, floral top with a skirt.
I wasn't going to judge, but she seemed to be very different than this group.

"No, it was too difficult for me to be in school when I was in and out of foster homes, so the foster parents and group homes taught me."

Silence fell on the table.

"Lily, that was a little rude." Ryan finally spoke and I grabbed my tray.

"Thanks for this." I left their table and threw away my trash.

Someone ran up to me, touching my shoulder. "Hey, ignore her. I promise everyone is nice." Tony reassured me.

"It's alright. Go back to your friends." He pursed his lips and finally retreated to the table while I walked out of the cafeteria.

On my way out, I looked around and landed on the table with the pig guy and his friends. The one who apologized looked up and smiled at me.

I waved and went to search for somewhere quiet.

The day was finally over and I sat outside to wait for Josh.

"Hey." Tony walked over with Ruby following him.

Great, they were bothering me again.

"What do you two want?" Tony sat next to me and Ruby sat in front of me.

"We just wanted to apologize for Lily's behavior. She's usually like that." Ruby explained.
Her black hair was falling into her face and whenever she brushed it back, it would fall again.

She reminded me of a shy puppy.

"Is she always like that?" Tony and Ruby shared a look and I rolled my eyes. "Alright, then maybe I don't want to be involved with your group."

I stood up and started walking towards the parking lot when Tony grabbed my arm.

"Wait, I promise she's tolerable. She's just not used to a new girl in the group." I shrugged his hand off and walked over to Josh's car.

When I shut the door, he glanced up from his phone and smiled.

"How was school?" I didn't want to answer his question.

"Fine." He knew it wasn't true, but he left it alone and started driving.

"After I drop you off at home, I'm going to the airport. Jenna and Tyler are in town." I couldn't believe what he was saying.

Tyler was the reason I got into bass and his wife is my idol. If you ever asked me what my favorite power couple was, I would easily choose the Josephs.

"Why are they here?" I didn't mean for it to sound so passive, it just came out that way.

"Well, Tyler and I are working on some stuff and Jenna wanted to meet you," The rest of the drive was silent and before I got out of the car, he called for me.

"I.. Forgot what I was gonna say. Just stay in the house while I'm gone." I shot him a thumbs up and went inside.
