Chapter 11

9-1-12

9:55PM

Growing Alphas Prep

Carrie's POV

What happened to her? I asked myself, then remembering everything that had happened the night before. I sighed, and got up, looking at the door, hoping she might come back in.

She probably wasn't. Wow everything had happened because of a stupid impulse, something that was totally an instinct, had seemed to destroy everything. I hoped that it was just a phase, and that everything would somehwo get better. I would enjoy that.

I got out of bed, and yawned. Sara always found that yawning out lous was a bad thing. I never cared, my parents never told me otherwise. Then again, they cared about other things, as in religous things, like prayer and what not. This is why I would never admit I was bisexual to my parents.

Not wide eyed, I went into my closet and put on a simple pair of bell bottom jeans and a retro dark yellow shirt. I put my hair in a low ponytail, and put on my comfy faded flip flops. I was ready to go to the mall for breakfast, and since it was a Saturday, I was going to go with me and my book to the courtyard and enjoy the sunshine and comfort. I then heard a crack of thunder.

So much for the outdoors... I thought to myself, then grabbing my credit card and umbrella. I put my credit card in my pocket, and walked out of the dorm room, hearing a roar of thunder. I sighed, and opened the door to the outside, being greeted by a downpour.

I opened my umbrella, and ran out, trying to get to the bus as fast as I possibly could. I was not going to Mall A for some reason, some part of me saw that as a bad idea.

So I was going to Mall B.

I got onto the bus, and watched out the window to see it go past the scenery at top speed, then stopping at Mall B. I got off, and noticed that the place seemed a little bit deserted. This meant that there was a party last night, one that Onyx or I was invited to.

Meaning that Mall B was going to be totally deserted for the next two or more hours.

Great.

Onyx's POV

"Are you seriously the daughter of Kristopher Harrison? The one with the legendary hotel and casino?" Chase asked.

"Uh, yeah." I said, annoyed about the fact that anyone really cared. I personally didn't, in fact when I grow up, instead of inheriting the business, I was planning to go on a different path. I was planning to be an actress.

We were then at the food court, the one place that Chase had been begging to go to. I was also. My feet ached from wearing the pumps, at least I was not taking them off any time soon, they were probably covered with blisters.

Chase and I then for a minute or two then part, as he went to one place, and got something, I did not know what it was called. I went to Subway, and got a chicken sub, and a Coke.

I ended up sitting at one of the tables nearer to the store near the store Abercrombie and Fitch. Chase kept staring at the picture of a girl in a bikini at the entrance. I wasn't, models are a pathetic thing to drool over.

For a few minutes we were totally silent, then Chase looked at what I was eating, puzzled.

"Why did you get that?" Chase asked.

"Because I wanted to. Is there something wrong with that?" I asked, drinking some of the Coke that was left.

"Yeah. It is not right for a girl, here, at this school to eat that. I thought you knew that." Chase complained. I sighed, a little agitated. This boy was as shallow as anything. At least he was hot, and since it was Victoria's idea, and I did not want her to feel down because she could not find the right guy for me.

Besides, Carrie wants nothing to do with me. I have to have something to keep my mind busy.

"I did not know that." I said, and Chase sighed.

"Are you new here?" Chase asked.

"Yeah. Why?" I replied.

"Sounds like it. Most women know better than to do anything to make themselves have any meat o their bones. You should do the same." Chase explained, taking the last bite of that odd food that he was eating.

Yes, he was very shallow. I bet this is going to be just fun.

We threw what was left of our breakfast away, and then began to walk around the mall.

For the next twenty minutes, I had to listen to Chase's annoying life story. The one, that consists nothing but sports, women, and people hating them. If anything, if I had no respect for people, I would have told him to shut up.

Gosh, I had to idea what I had gotten myself into.

Carrie's POV

I looked at the romance section in the book store, hoping I would see the one thing that I wanted to see the most. I wanted to find a romance that related to my life right now, and I certainly was not finding it. If anything, I was finding the total opposite. There were all kinds of things that were historical fiction, talking about some girl trying to seduce another guy.

Ew.

If anything, I was pretty sure that I was not going to be finding anything modern, let alone realistic, or LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender). Everything that I need and there was nothing there that had it. I sighed, and knew I would have to ask the clerk for something like that, or I was probably not going to come out here with anything to read.

I then walked over to the cashier, who was messing with her phone, laughing at something, then looking at me.

"Yes?" She asked. I looked at her name tag, which said Elle.

"Do you have any LGBT romances here?" I asked, and for a second there was a look of disgust on her face. She then nodded.

"We do, they are in the back corner of the store. They are under the genre other." Elle said, and then went back to her phone, that look of disgust coming back on her face. I could tell for certain she was a total homophobe.

In the back corner of the store, there were like, ten rows of books that were LGBT. I looked through them all, and picked out a couple of them, for some reason now looking at the, like it was going to be a bad idea if I looked at the titles. I then made my journey back to the cashier, and noticed that what the girl was obsessed with, was some game called Angry Birds.

The girl then looked at me, and sighed. She took the three books from me, and put them on the cash register.

"Thirty dollars please." Elle said, and I swiped my card, and signed my name quickly, taking the bag of books and leaving.

Once out of the store I was going over to the exit, where I could then go back to the dorm and leave.

Then someone grabbed me by the shoulder.

"Well, well, look who we found coming out of the bookstore. Loser." I heard Victoria squeal, and I looked behind expecting me to see Onyx among them, but she was nowhere to be seen.

"Whatever Victoria. I am not into your games today." I said, and she rolled her eyes.

"What games? I am only telling you the truth, and that outfit is anything but cool. Did you know that that came out a year ago? Ew!" Victoria sneered.

"Like I said, I don't want to hear it." I pleaded.

"Why? Too sad that I found your little friend a boyfriend? Sad that Onyx is my friend now and not yours? Oh, too bad..... gosh, I wish there was something reassuring that I could tell you, but, losers never get a happy ending." Victoria added. She then waved, and strutted away, and I sighed, with a little pain in my heart.

I believed her though, losers like me seem to never have a happy ending.
