"Since when was I your assistant?"
"Well, you want to work here, right?"
"Yeah, but you haven't even looked at my CV yet-"
"I don't need that! I already interviewed you, didn't I? Now come on, we have work to do!"

And that was that. Ash was now trailing behind Jordan as they made their way into Sky Cave. Cari, Jordan's Mimikyu, was resting on the bun that Jordan had tied her hair into, while Ash had his first Pokémon, Excadrill, by his side.
"Are you sure you should be wearing that?" Ash asked, looking at the pure white, almost puffy dress that Jordan was wearing.
"I always wear these types of dresses when I go adventuring. If you have a problem with that, then you can leave and find a job somewhere else."
"N-no, I don't have a problem with it." Ash sighed. As weird as Jordan was, he needed the money, so he had to just suck it up and deal with her.

Suddenly, Jordan stopped walking, looking at what appeared to be a dead end. However, the stone was a lighter shade than the walls around them, and seemed to have a crack down the middle. Jordan held her lantern close to the stone for a few seconds before speaking up.
"Hey, Ashworth, you studied Maiarian writing, right?"
"Yeah, it was a quarter of my archaeology course, why?" Jordan moved out of the way so that Ash could get a better look.
"Then you'll be better at reading this than I am." Ash moved closer, and sure enough, the stone was covered in the Maiarian language.

The Maiarians were a race of people who lived thousands of years ago, and were thought to be the first humans to interact with Pokémon in a non-aggressive way, and they were also believed to be able to use magic.

After a few minutes, Ash finally said something.
"It's a riddle, and a pretty easy one to read at that."
"Well, what's the riddle then?"
"It says those who seek the Beauty Crown, must on their knees get down, then to show their loyalty, sacrifice part of you and me, whatever the hell that means."
"Wait..." Jordan's eyes widened. "What was the one thing that the Maiarians thought was the same in every human?" Ash's eyes went as wide as Jordan's as he realised.
"Blood!? We have to give our blood!?"
